Hello,
I've noticed that the infoline in the showcase view, is not correct when you are in the tv shows section.


I think this info has no sense in a tv show. Changing this line in the Include_Labels.xml the problem is solved.

Amazing colours update! Pixelate is the bomb I am having an issue with desaturate in the Colorbox Advanced Settings, when I try that the image darkens and I get Please wait busy loader permanently until I change to another blur effect type.

Also just noticed there seems to be extra spacing between By and the director on infobar, if intentional then ignore but I mean here: http://i.magaimg.net/img/1euo.png

I do think it is useful sometimes to know what the end time would be, but I do agree that the number of watched/total episodes is probably more useful. Made the change

A big shoutout has to go to @badaas for his awesome colorbox script which powers all the blur effects.

Yeah some of the features only work with the new version of colorbox which is waiting repo inclusion (you will also notice that blend does nothing). Hopefully it shouldn't be too long as the PR has been sitting there for almost two weeks.

The "by" spacing was a hold over from the music osd. I've fixed it now.

I'm finding that the colour matching for posters is taking a loong time to activate on widgets on the home screen. Around 6 or 7 seconds of moving about until it picks up & changes for each one. Sometimes it won't trigger at all & I have to go into movies section to trigger it & then back out to widgets & it works OK.
Also the background for each item on the widgets on home screen also takes about 6,7 8 seconds to appear for each item when I scroll over them. Once they appear they they reactivate straight away upon scrolling over item again. After a restart, the same icon will have no background again until I wait on it for another 6 or 7 seconds.
Is this a known issue with widgets?

@taurus35 -- It is skin helper that is taking its sweet time! I don't know why, but some of the more recent updates of skin helper seem to be really slow with providing artwork/info for widgets.

Once I make the move to Leia I won't need to rely on skin helper as much because Leia allows for referencing the currently focused list without needing to supply the ID. This means I can use the item artwork directly rather than relying on skin helper to retrieve it -- which means it will be almost instantaneous. I currently can't do this because I would need to have 96 different variables to account for each possible widget ID (well I could do it, but I'd rather not add that much code...).

Apparently it is to do with rate limiting in skin helper to avoid strain on the various APIs. Places like fanart.tv and omdbapi are getting hit pretty heavily by kodi, so this is an arrangement that Marcelveldt has come to with them to ensure that services continue to run.
If you enter your own API keys then it should be faster

Go to Settings > System > Add-ons > Manage Dependencies
Locate the Metadata and Artwork Module > Click Info and then Settings
Go to the API section and input keys for fanart.tv omdbapi.com and TMDB
I think fanart.tv and TMDB keys can be gotten for free from the respective websites, but omdbapi you need to become a patreon for $1 a month and request a key.

Value in top bar is the value in your db (either the scraped value or the user rating value if you have set one).
The value next to imdb is the value from imdb that skin helper pulls in.

If you use an imdb scraper for ratings, the values are likely to match. But there are other sources for db ratings (e.g. themoviedb or an nfo file).
Even if both values are from imdb, the two flags can be useful to compare how much a the value has changed over time.

I decided it was finally time to make the change from Arctic Zephyr and so far I am really enjoying Horizon, thank you!

If you don't mind there are a few minor things I've spotted...

• Equalizer visualisation in home bar continues moving when paused
  
• Home widgets, moving to other row, changing column and return to first row flicker of highlight as it moves from it's original position
  

Things I'd love...

• When scrolling right in a long list of widget items it'd be really handy to press up while on the top row to return to the menu, rather than scrolling all the way left again
  
• Possible to have a widget format for "wider square without text?" for music albums? But not as a toggle to turn text off for all square widgets (like the landscape settings option)
  
• A larger icons view (Icons 2) would be great for music albums
  
• The Lovefilm view would be perfect for album artists (much like the large fanart view in Arctic Zephyr I loved)
  
• Possible to only have widget item text scroll when highlighted? I find having lots of them scroll at once distracting
  

And things that probably aren't skin specific...

• Recently added TV widget item goes to cast. In progress widget items go to "next up", "back" button goes to cast, "back" again to return home.
  
• In progress widget shows, pick a show and "Next Up" lists episodes I've already watched in descending order

Glad you are liking it!
I've split your post up and quoted separate sections to address different points.
The eq bars shouldn't show when paused - if paused it should show a paused icon, and if caching it shows a busy indicator. Are you sure you are paused and it isn't something else happening?
I know about the flicker of the highlight. Haven't figured out a way to fix it yet.

Things I'd love...

You should be able to press back to return to the start of the widget (as long as something isn't playing). I use a button on my remote mapped to SetFocus(300) which will open the side menu in any window including the home window (300 is the id for the sidemenu).

Having larger square widgets messes up the alignment -- either the items have to not be truly square and slightly too wide; the spacing between the square items will be much bigger; they wont align properly on the right side of the screen; or they will have a different height to all the other widgets and mess up the vertical alignment. All are things I want to avoid so unfortunately it isn't really a possibility. It is something I've wanted to do, but I can't see any solution that I find satisfactory.

I've been meaning to add a larger icons view for albums, but just haven't got around to it yet.

Lovefilm has been added to artists (forgot to add it there, so I'm glad you pointed that out!)

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying the problem is here?
Next up only opens if the container content is tvshows or seasons -- if the content is episodes it doesn't show. I made it this way because I assume once you are at the episode level you are already making a choice about what to watch, and so probably want to see cast details instead if pressing info.

It is intended to have back from nextup to return to the cast.
Next up will show your next available unwatched episode. If everything has been watched, it will show you the *least* watched episode.

You can always disable the nextup info in
Skin Settings > Miscellaneous > Display next up episodes instead of cast in tvshow info dialog

Thanks @Edworld, I don't have Kodi open at this time, but I remember the difficulty of knowing the release year in this view mode. I'll check again later and try to figure out what might be wrong.
