That would be too good for me and many others to be true!
Maybe the few examples he saw over 3 years ago were not very convincing. The quality of you animatedposters has been greatly improved since then.
It may helps to show founder "Kode" a showcase "best of examples"...
This is my absolute favorite - perfect !:

And these are also great!

In this regard, there are still 2 problems to solve:
1) There would have to be a strict convention for quality standards
A uniform resolution, aspect ratio, frames, duration, max size and so on...
2) The bigger problem will be online storage capacity and online traffic.
Who has read something on fanart.tv (also the blogs and background information) who knows that "Kode" has achieved a masterpiece in which fanart.tv strikes a perfect balance between ease of use, speed, near-infinite memory (for pictures only) with the opposite cost as far as fanart.tv can get through donations.
I've been following the "Bar for the Donations" for a while now, but it has never come close to the minimum.
See: https://ibb.co/fFChyK
Key message: The whole thing is free for everyone, but it still costs money!
It's a bit hard to find, but you can read that with a few metrics:
https://medium.com/fanart-tv/the-best-us...a88214bfec
The fact is that the number of pure users is many times greater than those who additionally sometimes click on paypal.
... and now in addition to the memory and traffic with animated fanarts would be difficult.
(Maybe you could offer it as a Premium (VIP) service)
By the way, fanart.tv just has also lack and mods and is looking for some.
And no, I do not know any admin/mod from fanart.tv. And yes, also I could use more paypal in comparison to how much I use the platform (traffic, api...)
Thanks for reading
