Uh that looks interesting, getting seasons and episodes of the selected one at the same time.
How to open the side menu in this view? (Since we can go up down left and right here) By Pressing up when the selection is on the season layer?
I think I would flip over the episode details to the right side and highlight the selected season as well.
An option to hide details in such views would be great as well
What do you mean by hide details? Like the plot to prevent spoilers? Kodi already has an option for that in the library settings.
Yep, press up from season posters to access menu.
Highlighting the selected season at the same time makes it confusing where the focus is.
The focus moving from season to episode list feels natural, it's just one of those things you need to experience in action rather than see a screenshot of.
It's a season view, so you always start on the 1st season poster and then you either move right to select the next season or down to select an episode.
I did try it flipped and I quite liked it. The main issue is that in other views I have the poster the left and text/list on the right (e.g. see the info dialog). So I'm trying to keep things consistent by having artwork on the left and lists on the right.
Flipped.
However, I have views like this, so I'm worried about consistency:
Maybe it would make sense to flip the media info type views so that the list is on the left.
It maybe could work with an animation like in Eminence from the hub to library where the view slides to the left/right.
What do you think?
Here's the normal list and poster list compared against the flipped media info view:
