Used 7zip and file is a zip file

I use 7zip too.

In the addon.xml you must rename everything to match the name of your own script.
So if you call your zip file "script.bluestacks.zip" then you must rename this:
<addon id="script.Dave.RunFile"
to this:
<addon id="script.bluestacks"

Do you follow? :-)
I did not change anything except the path to the test file.
Zip is still script.Dave.RunFile

Thanks but not an option

Question. Why isn't it an option?
1 - Cost of buying
2 - Just like win 7

Thank you - I just uninstalled 18.2 & went to 18.1 as I saw on google this would solve it but it did not.
The path is - C:\Users\Aceuk\Downloads\Kodi\Run File Script\TestFile.exe
Just so I understand it - I place the zip file into  Run File Script (folder) and extract here. Then go to Add ons locate zip file and install.

TestFile.exe is just a test file I included for testing. What is the path for Blue Stacks, which you want to open in Kodi?

Yes I was going to test it first, But here is the Blue Stacks path C:\Program Files\Blue Stacks\HD-RunApp.exe (I think its .exe they call it application but it opens the program)

Here you go mate: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xbxz2hv6fq4zgp...s.zip?dl=1

Add this in the add ons menu, and replace a submenu with programs add-on -> BlueStacks

That is weird. Well nevermind the zip file then. Just copy the unzipped folder to C:\Users\Aceuk\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons

Hi again
Sorry, it seems that addons can't be installed just by copying the folder.
I just created a new zip file for you. Please let me know if this one works for you :-)

Hi Good news it installed , what was the solution?.
Bad news sorry I made a mistake saying C:\Program Files\Blue Stacks\HD-RunApp.exe
There is no space between Blue Stacks (should be BlueStacks) Also I don't think it should have .exe - See pic there is another file called
HD-RunApp.exe The file I want is HD-RunApp . I thought it would be .exe as when you look in properties it says Application (.exe)

If you can tell me how to zip the file I can rectify it

All I did was to copy the "script.Dave.RunFile-master" folder, and change the paths etc. Then I created the zip file. Not sure why it didn't work the first time.

I am pretty sure that "HD-RunApp.exe" will open BlueStacks, but I can tell from your screenshot that something is messed up with your EXE file association. In the "Type" column it says "XML Configuration" - it should say "Application"

So you need to:

1. Fix your exe file association using this guide: https://www.trishtech.com/2011/05/restor...n-windows/
2. Go to Kodi and uninstall the "Dave.Bluestacks" that you just installed - and restart Kodi.
3. Download the new zip I made for your with the correct path: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxv79e0qsxq1i6...s.zip?dl=1
4. Install the new zip in Kodi
