Ok, so OpenCase mod for artists is a thing now!

Need latest version of script.skin.info.service and the Skin from their respective GitHub repos.

You can follow the instructions HERE on how to install from GitHub but please read the whole thing before you start naming every folder skin.aeon.nox.silvo

Separate settings for artists but albums and songs share the same setting.

@mikeSiLVO , thanks! Yes, I like to keep up with your developments in Skin Info (works great for all of the sets info, thank you )

I will test and let you know if I find any issues.  I don't have much music in my library at the moment, but enough to test with.

@flhthemi Please test latest from git for browsing genres and any other paths for Main Menu items that you feel like adding.

Had to create a Western playlist to use for a widget as the same "issue"? exists there. I think I useta be able to drill down to a genre there too...?

Never was an option for Widgets and not sure if I should add that cause if you do without setting a limit then you're likely gonna bork your system if you have a large collection and it tries to load 1,000 action movies or something...

Fwiw, after installing fresh GIT and updating script.skin.info.service, I had to restart Kodi for it to take affect.

After you're rested and you get bored, please consider this for 'Shift' view.  Thank you for adding it so quickly to 'Showcase' though.  I just might covert to a 'Showcase' user now

After you're rested and you get bored, please consider this for 'Shift' view.  Thank you for adding it so quickly to 'Showcase' though.  I just might covert to a 'Showcase' user now 

Probably do need to restart, thought Kodi would do that automatically when scripts get updated. Nothing I can sanely think of to do about that without learning more Python.

Added OpenCase for shift but due to the nature of the view there are at least 2 caveats I have found.

First is that cases won't be added cause they don't work with the view without re-working it and I just don't want to do that

The second thing I won't even mention cause nobody may notice it...







And lastly I will put this on GitHub within the hour for testing. I would classify this as experimental and would be very surprised if there were no bugs

The OpenCase mod is working great on my end. I am not sure if you're going to add fake art disc as well, but I personally never liked it. Also, while I have your attention. Maybe when you come back from your rest, you can probably add a view for example Youtube wherre all the icons are way too big. It would be nice to have the option to switch to smaller ones. In the image below you'll see what I am referring to.

While testing the Open Case mod in movies section (showcase view) I found something that may need a small tweak. If your movie or movie set has a clearart logo or banner they look awesome like below:



But if there is no logo or banner, the text is starting to go off the bottom of the screen:



I checked screen calibration and it is good....

I just checked.  With or without logo enabled, everything is centered in the footer as it should be.  Nothing falling off screen or off center.

Yes, I see in your screenshots.  Not happening here.  I see you're on 18.4 Leia.  I'm on Matrix but I doubt that matters.  My install is pretty fresh too.  I do notice your font in the top bar is different from mine.  Maybe that has something to do with it?

Yes, I see in your screenshots.  Not happening here.  I see you're on 18.4 Leia.  I'm on Matrix but I doubt that matters.  My install is pretty fresh too.  I do notice your font in the top bar is different from mine.  Maybe that has something to do with it? 

Yes I am using the Caviar Dreams font. I checked a couple others and they are doing the same for me, I will calibrate it smaller for now

Just my opinion - Don't use calibration.  Some years back it interfered with other things.  I can't recall exactly what they were but I remember one.  Caused some ghosting in 3D with SBS titles.  That may or may not have been corrected.  Not sure.  I have no reason to use calibration.  Try the default skin font and see if it corrects.  I tried a couple of the fonts just now and it ruins the main menu for me.  While I was at it, I tried the vertical centering in the footer problem you are having with and without logo/banners.  No change so font may have nothing to do with it.

Never added fake discart and I don't plan on ever adding that.
I don't like it either and frankly never saw the point of it...

After the whole MyFlix thing and showing you the background, I'll keep it to myself

I ended up mitigating it rather well so you would really have to stare close to notice it
