Ok, here is the log file.

Well this is annoying because the FireTV debug logs are still broken by default.
It would be useful if someone properly enables the debugging with the steps here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=371987

Otherwise please share a small sample that doesn't work anymore.
All my files still play correctly with the latest build.

Could you provide a sample of something that doesn't work without using your build please?

This is a profile 7 with HDR10+ file: https://mega.nz/file/gF1l1TDS#jUa4ZPKj15...3ZjNeOjTTU
Without removing HDR10+, there is a black screen.

Many thanks for posting that.

Just tried it and get Dolby Vision pop up on screen followed by a few seconds of the WB logo which I assume means it's playing fine. I'm running kodi-20230710-29926b4f-master-armeabi-v7a on a 3rd Gen Cube, running through a Denon x3500h to an LG C1.

So what is your issue then?

I'm trying to understand what I'm missing. You obviously spent a lot of your time creating a build to fix a problem that a lot of users suffer from but for me it just seems to work without it, any idea why?

Or is it that your fix has been rolled into the v21 nightlies without any announcement that I've seen so I am benefiting from your hard work?

The issue isn't present on most devices. I don't have a FireTV Cube but the issue was reported to happen on it, so I don't know about your experience.
Maybe they have fixed it there. Dolby recently said that they were looking into it.

The fix isn't in the nightlies, and I still have problems with the latest firmware on my FireTV Stick 4K Max.

Thanks, get it now. Had seen the Cube mentioned as you say which is where my confusion started. If there's any info I can provide which might help see what's different with mine, just ask.

I do have a Max which I replaced with the Cube to get the HD-Audio, so I'll lob it on there and see if that will misbehave.

Tried it on my Max and get the same issue as you, picks up it's DV but black screen. Firmware version is the same and running the same Kodi nightly as the Cube, so something else is definitely different.

Tried the new build on Fire TV Stick 4K Max with LG B7T and anything with both DoVi p8 and HDR10+ gives a black screen. Content having DoVi only (p5 or p8) play without any issue. All content is MP4. Same issue occurs with Kodi 20.

I may have missed a post about the LG B7T not being supported or perhaps some other settings in TV or stick that need adjusting. If not, I hope this information helps somehow. I'm happy to provide any other information if required.

Did you actually disable HDR10+ in the Kodi settings?

By default, the video bitstream is kept intact, so all metadata is kept.
