Can you post a screenshot of one of the indicators please?
The default install of AH2 shows a clock icon.
I'm not able to post an image directly, but you can see it here. Also, this is the Includes_Objects.xml file I've reverted back to.
It looks like none of the background images are being displayed correctly, but for things I've watched the tick is working correctly.

That version of the include works as originally intended on my test system.

Check to see if the 'circle-***' files are in skin.arctic.horizon.2\media\indicator. Very long shot as the watched tick is also there.

At a guess, you edited something and 'broken' the structure that displays the backgrounds.

Take a backup of the install, then remove and reinstall AH2 to see if it's OK on a clean install.

I don't remember changing anything in there. Am I right to just backup the UserData and Addon directories? I'm using a Shield so not that easy to backup on there.

What addon are you using for playing media ?
I belive this to be a known issue since kodi 21 and even talked about here, but happens only when using certain addons.
maybe that is the case here ?

I know some add-ons aren't allowed on here so I've been trying with my local library via a NAS drive.

Done a full reset. My backup didn't take so I've had to reconfigure everything again, but it's still the same. Thought it might be a trakt issue so reset that also, but still the same. All the circle images are there and work fine for watched items, it's like somewhere it's just not picking up the images correctly.

The skin mainly uses Google's Roboto font which doesn't support Asian characters so you'll need to replace it.

BACKUP files before starting

Choose a font that supports CJK characters and is static (eg .ttf not variable)
  1. Move the font variants to addons\skin.arctic.horizon.2\fonts
  2. Edit addons\skin.arctic.horizon.2\1080i\fonts.xml and replace the font references to your chosen font variants.

I am having an issue on both my FireCube v3s.  Once every maybe 10 launches, the widgets do not load.  I tried using the setting 'wait for addons to load' but it did not help.

Looking at a log file diff between a working and not working launch, this error seems to be the difference:

There are tons of places in the skin where this controls is asked to focus... Any ideas?

  1. Is there a way to completely hide the plot information on the home screen? I know you can select to hide it in the "Show information for unwatched items" menu, but then the plot simply gets replaced with the text "Hidden to prevent spoilers". I don't want to see any text. Perhaps some config file that can be edited?
  2. How to set up just a picture as background. This is possible other jurialmunkey skins.
  3. When scrolling through movies, it is no longer possible to quickly select a letter of the alphabet to jump to that section. Can this be fixed? I have 2000 movies, which makes manual scrolling a huge pain.

1. Edit file addons\resource.language.en_gb\resources\strings.po (it's a text file). Search for #20370 and change the line under it to
Code:
msgid " "

2. Not that I'm aware of.

3. There should be an alphabet strip and a scroll bar. Depending on the layout go down or to the right.
Thanks for the reply.

1. That specific path you mention does not exist on my sd card. I did find /addons/skin.arctic.horizon.2/language/resource.language.en_gb/strings.po, but in that file #20370 doesn't exist. I checked each line in the file for something that could be the plot information dialog, but I couldn't find it.

2. Ok, bummer but not a deal-breaker.

3. I do have the scroll bar, but there is no alphabet listing. I noticed this is a problem with certain layouts only. Any layout that is horizontal, i.e. where you scroll horizontally through movies, you do get the alphabet strip which you can use. But any layout that has vertical scrolling, like Media Info Wall, you have to scroll to the left to get the scroll bar, but there is no alphabet strip.

The last point especially is really an issue that it doesn't work. It seems like an oversight to be honest. In jurialmunkey's other skin, Arctic Zephyr Reloaded, the alphabet strip is always there no matter the layout. But I don't want to go back to that skin since I think Arctic Horizon 2 looks much better. Sad

Is there a way to set how long before the widgets refresh? I would like some of them to refresh more often.

1. Kodi controls the "Hidden to prevent spoilers" text. The file is in the Kodi addons not the skin's addons. If you can't access the file (eg in Android) attach the sd card to a PC and edit the file there.

3. No vertical layouts have the Alphabet strip. The script is only for Horizontal layouts.

Hardcoded into Kodi. No way to change it.

1. I found the location, on my SD card it's /usr/share/kodi/addons/resource.language.en_gb/resources/strings.po.

3. That is a real bummer. Is there not some way to somehow add it in? I know Arctic Zephyr Reloaded has it, in which is basically the same layout. Maybe some simple copy/pasting of the right code could add an alphabet scroll for the Media Info Wall layout in Arctic Horizon 2, would be good enough for me. Any idea if this can be done?

Hi,

I want to upgrade kodi from 20.0 to the newest version, but I want to do a fresh install, because Kodi crashes alot.
Is it possible to backup all the settings and menu of this skin, and restore them on a different version of Kodi?

Thank you in advance.
