YouTube addon not working. I have installed Api key. I tried beta versions. And they don't work.

You also have to go through the Kodi App's UI to "Log In" to an account.  Did you do that too?

What other settings need to be made?

Installed the Beta 4, Then sign in can be done. But when it's completed it still says "Sign in" as I did not log in at all. Tried like 3 times.

You can try sendtokodi (from firsttris) on kodi, along with kore (on android phone) or the sendtokodi extension (in the browser).
This has a few flaws though: You need two devices in order to play one vid, which is not convenient, and some configuration is needed on kodi and on the browser addon itself. I tried it earlier and it played like 5 videos in a row without any issue, because it does not use the youtube addon. Instead, the shared link is sent to kodi, sendtokodi pulls the video url from it just like yt-dlp would do and kodi just plays it.

If anyone knows an EASY way to delete quoted posts from... posts i want to quote so that they do not appear one inside the other, please tell me. It is very annoying to not have plain text inside quote tags and just delete what is inside the tags.

Thanks for your response HTPC17 , I will give the chrome or google browser on the box a try with the two time code entry and see what happens. As for the editing I have no problems with that, I edit files all the time on the Android box. I was just enquiring if anyone knew of a way to edit in something in a file to make it look like the sign in was accomplished and stop the 'bot' pop-up that way because I recall trying to sign in through the Android a long while back with no success. We'll see, thanks again

Hi HTPC17, I remember what the problem was. When I try to sign in to Youtube I get the Device code that I need but then I need to back out of youtube and kodi to go on to chrome to input the code to google which I manage to do. The problem is that when I back out of Youtube to do this I am cancelling out those device codes. I have no way to leave Youtube on when the countdown for the device code is happening and still go to chrome. How do you manage to have both chrome and youtube up on your Android box without having to back out of Youtube and Kodi?

Ok, I found the page button on my remote and was able to have both chrome and kodi/Youtube up and running and did insert the two different codes to google/device and it showed success each time yet when I go back to youtube it has the scrolling error of 'invalid.........' I tried a few different times.
So I will stop trying and find another way to watch trailers. Thanks again anyways.

If it's just trailers you want then I recommend YouTube for Trailers.

I created new OAuth and secret ID's only and leave the API key like it was.
The type is changed in "TVs and Limited devices", before it was "Desktop".

I think that should work, no ?

Ok, today i made some time for it ...
Above settings worked.
With v7.1.1.6 i had no luck, always the bot error after logging in, than i used the v7.2.0.beta4 and bingo ! I saw when i was running the wizard, that is was fine, no errors.
After 2 times logging the codes on google.com/device and finally working on my Rpi-Pi V3b with LibreElec 11.0.6, idle temperature 51°C, with Youtube 62°C, Cpu usage less than 50% (global).

I don't mind using two devices.  I use my phone as a kodi remote anyway.
I tried that method of using sendtokodi.  It did not work for me.  If the Youtube addon is installed, it seems to want to play through that (and I would get the error if not logged in).  If the Youtube addon is disabled, it does nothing.

Hi Hitcher, yes I only use it for trailers. I knew about this app but couldn't be bothered installing. You inspired me to install it and yes it plays the trailers for both movies and tv shows. Thank you. Cheers

I updated to 7.0.2 beta 4 but it does not fix my problem. I think i still have the API keys in there... and i have tried to login (never logged in before but ok)  and according to google the device is connected or whatever, however YT plugin says Error invallid Client in the bottom of the screen.

Then you did something wrong or - as you say whatever-

A new API is probably needed in your case since you can't remember logging in.

First create an API which will give you the 1st field needed,

Second,  create an OAuth 2.0 Client IDs which will give you two fields:
- Client ID.  You need to strip .apps.googleusercontent.com from the clientID if present.
- Secret key. 

With those 3 fields go back to Kodi and add them to the YouTube addon settings,
Then 
You will have to sign in and register your device twice.
"The second time you Connect a device, you will be prompted with:
This app isn't verified This app hasn't been verified by Google yet. Only proceed if you know and trust the developer.
From there clicking Advanced and Go to <your project name> (unsafe) allows you to complete the process."

Got the bot error on 7.1.1.6
Beta4 solved the problem, but as every beta on my setup - it keeps endless spinner at the top right corner of Arctic Fuse skin saying "recieving 378498288... objects". This exact thing happens only on betas.
Is ther a way to fix it?

I seem to having a similar issue.. When I open a search, channel, bookmark, etc., I get the "Receiving x of y objects" (usually something between 15 to 20 objects) with the "busy" spinner, which on the default theme is front and center and also more or less locks the UI. All of the objects are usually "received" pretty quickly (i.e. 15 of 15 received), but then I'm treated to around 1 to 5 minutes of watching the spinner until the listing of whatever I was opening is displayed.

This is the first beta I've used, never encountered this issue with any of the release versions. Since most people that have reported the beta fixing the "confirm you're not a bot" problem, have not complained about this issue after that, I'm assuming that this might be a configuration or platform issue specific to my setup (rpi4, LibreElec 11.0.6).
