The normal way would be to play movies from within your library from either a local HDD or from another storage device on your home network. I presume when you say streaming from the internet you mean using icefilms plugin or the like, it is possible to add movies from those types of sites to your XBMC library then they will show up in Constellation, I cant go into the hows about that though... Google may have that answer. As the other poster has mentioned only movies and TV in your Library will show up under the relevant sections in constellation

I just built a htpc using win7 and can't get xbmc to connect to any remote apps for an ipad2. I've tried about 6 remote apps and they all fail to connect so I'm thinking its a problem with my htpc. The htpc does connect my network just fine, I've transferred files to it. For Constellation for example, I've entered in the correct IP, name, password, port and turned on all the network options in xbmc for remote control, but it never connects. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Jason
I would first to to see if you can access your library via the webinterface... //your-htpc-ip:your-htpc-xbmc-port (ie, 192.168.0.100:8080) you need to set it up in the services section of XBMC first, which i'm presuming you already have! Go to XBMC settings, services, web interface make sure its enabled and username and password are set (don't use special characters for password, e.g "£%"$&**).
In the remote/control (whichever it is called) and make sure allow programs on this system to control XBMC and allow programs on other systems to control XBMC.
see if that helps
