Yes it is. Just use group-title="Genre title" in your m3u file
e.g.
#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="france24" tvg-logo="france24.png" group-title="News" tvg-name="France 24 EN",France 24 EN
mms://stream1.france24.yacast.net/f24_liveen

I've just tested what you wrote, but it didnt make difference. The channels are still not sorted after category and i'am not able to view the categories.
Have i missed something?
