Not sure about the labels since I prefer it that way but I also do not use that layout so... possibly when I get to it Wink

@BobCratchett,

Do you have any explanation/comment on why ExtendedInfo widgets stop populating almost randomly? I assume this is a defect of Skin Shortcuts as I've used ExtendedInfo widget content in the past without issue.

By stop populating, I mean the widget will not load content after some activity -- such as playing a video and stopping it. I cannot determine the series of events that triggers this, but I've seen it happen many times. It does not matter if the menu is the vertical or horizontal position. The ExtendedInfo content, and the widget, fails to appear when returning to the Home screen.

@Warner306, nope no explanation, and my only comment would be that Skin Shortcuts has nothing to do with the loading of the content - all it does is pass a path to the skin (e.g. plugin://script.extendedinfo?info=trendingshows), which the skin asks Kodi to load.

@Warner306: I think it's related to the widgets themselves. I've been using Madnox with Mr V's beta widgets and they have been working perfectly, until the latest version (which updates all the widget features to match the Silvo ones), when this bug started to appear there as well.

Hi everyone,

as it's my first post. First, thanks for this wonderful skin and the support you deliver. Second, congrats for the last upgrade of your family Smile Enjoy it.

Concerning the skin now, I am a bit confused I should say. I am using a RP2 with OSMC (Jarvis beta build, Kodi 16 Beta 5 to be precise). To be complete, I also have your repository (Aeon Nox Silve repository).

My confusion starts because when I tried to install the Jarvis version through the repository, I have a no compatible message. Have I miss something ?

As I really want this skin, I went to GIT and uploaded the Jarvis branch. I installed it and switch to it. After a very difficult start (no more labels at all), I restarted the operation and finally get something working. But since what, I have several small issues. My second confusion is here: if I read the thread, these issues are corrected in GIT branch but I seem to still have them. The 3 I think about are
- the blue color theme is used even if I choose red in Appearance tab.
- Weather background stays black where I put Live Conditional Live Weather as background.

Of course, the issues are not important at all, my point is more to be sure to apply the right process to get the latest Jarvis build and to have updates when you correct things.

Regards,
MoonArrow.

ok, thanks a lot Wink
Would be really nice, if you could fix the "symbols" option, on 2.0.9 it was perfect Wink

I do not use OSMC but the repo is a combined repo for both Isengard and Jarvis skin versions and that function is based on the minversion tag so if OSMC does not follow the same version tagging then it will not work...

If you install from Git you need to check to make sure all the required scripts to run the skin are installed and updated to their latest GitHub versions as well as being installed correctly. That is the responsibility of the user since they chose to use a development version of the skin.

Appearance tab is no longer used for theme and color changes as I am switching to a color customizer and that is currently a WIP. Everything but view colors should work as I have not gotten to them yet.

If you are using Jarvis then you need to open the Weather section on the home menu, then open the sidemenu in that area and select background. If it is empty select Get more on the right hand side and install a Weather Fanart Image Resource Addon from the Kodi default repository. After that the conditional weather should work. Make sure to also read the FAQ concerning installation and the GitHub README located on the first page of this thread. Double check your addon folder for more than one SiLVO skin folder (*hint* check all folder names cause it might be named differently).

Brief comment on the widgets as I have had some interesting learning experiences in the 18 months or so that I have been working with Kodi skinning...

Anything involved with skinning especially things using Python or addons has its quirks and the "Fun" is finding ways through experimentation and determination to solve issues that you come across. In other words... just because it works doesn't mean that is the way it should be done or that it will function using as many use cases as possible Nod
I have some ideas concerning the widgets and Mr. V and I should discuss that but it will have to wait as I am very busy and will only work on things I am personally interested in since my time is so limited ATM.

P.S. @warner - I'm more like Mr. Mom than Mr. Nanny Wink and the devotion I feel to the skin can be summed up rather easily...
I released it and therefore it is my baby and I need to make sure it grows up well with enough support and nurturing from its Father so it can succeed and be the best it can be Big Grin

@Mr. V,

I downloaded the latest updates from the Jarvis branch and noticed the onfocus highlight is the wrong size -- it is too small.

You sure it is just not the Hallway in the pic causing you to think that? The bottom half seems to be going across the whole screen... Or do you mean a different widget layout than that picture?

Ah... I see, missed that but I think that is just the image used to make the labels standout over a bright poster image and should be probably be removed if the widgets have no labels. Gonna blame it on the lack of sleep. Nod

Mr schimi, I have cleaned out my inbox so if you have some cool new images for me like the one Mr. V has for his icon Sad feelin left out cause mine is so not as awesome! Which is your fault by the way Tongue Big Grin

Not sure ATM. I am going through three and a half thousand line of widget code and testing and checking all the views for things like this for both silvo and madnox (so 7000+ lines of code). Lots of small position fixes along the way. I'll post an update to GitHub some time after as it quite time consuming. After that let me know if this issue still remains.

Look at the blue highlight/overlay in person. The poster looks too small on the right and bottom. I'm sure it has shrunk, but I didn't look at it on a TV.
