I agree 100% that it is sluggish overall which is why I'm upgrading but no issues watching a movie at all through network storage. Streaming may be a different story but I don't use it for that.
I was just trying to play some simple 1080p file through USB and had an issue, drivers, and all the windows system updates were up to date.I think if you are going to spend $150 look on eBay for i3 or i5, if you find the Dell for $80 then I will say maybe.
Well, the Dell 3050 I found was a lot more than $80 (closer to $145 shipped), but it already has RAM (2GB), HDD (32GB) and Windows 10 installed.
Can you (or anyone else) link me to a better option? I would prefer to buy it with everything already installed, but I am tech savvy enough to install on my own if it will save me $$$. Also, I have no problem with the "free" Win 10 version.
Thanks!
EDIT: Just wanted to add that if the new NUC is as snappy as the Chromebox (what I'm used to), I'll be more than happy!
What is the max are you willing to spend and not look back for an upgrade?
On the Cheap side this would be my number one option Intel NUC DN2820/2830, offer the seller $70.
On the Max side, I suggest getting Intel Kaby Lake.
