There is no need to do that and SMB1.0 is insecure.

That link isn't found when I clicked on it, but I searched for SMB and found this link:

In the introduction though I found this and it's a bit confusing:
Quote:Note: SMB v1 is not supported in Kodi. SMB v2 or higher must be used.

So how does enabling SMB-v1 in Windows help unless you're using an old version of Kodi?

I think the basic issue is that SMB v1 was providing browsing service as well as folder/file access and now Windows10 uses a different service for browsing.  So Kodi can't browse shared folders using SMB and instead you have to type in the server\folder name.  But Windows will do the name resolution for the server name to IP address.
