I cant get past the splash screen.

Is there any way to add a magnifying glass / search shortcut right there at the to left? That would be amazing!

I ended up using tghe global search addon as per this post.

Hey everyone. So I've been putting most of my spare time for skinning into the creation of a new skin. Yes, another one! Although, this time it is more a mashup/mod of my existing skins rather than starting from scratch. It combines the basic stylistic elements of Horizon with the text-centric minimalism and rounded edges of Arctic. So it's basically a minimalist version of Horizon. I have also tried to ensure that mouse/touch is supported in most sections (for home widgets there is an option in Skin Settings > Home to enable mouse support). The final skin will have themes for both round and square corners.

Please Note

RottenTomatoes and Metacritic Setup via SkinHelper and OMDB api
1. Install the beta version of skin helper from marcelveldt's beta repository:

2. Go to omdb and get an API key. If you are lucky you can get a free key, but please consider donating to omdb via Patreon to keep omdb alive

3. Once you have an API key, go to Skin Settings > Manage Dependencies and click "script.module.metadatautils" to open it's settings
4. Go to the API section of the settings and enter your omdb api key, then press OK to save your settings.
5. Close Kodi and delete simplecache.db from kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.module.simplecache/simplecache.db - this step is not necessary, but it will force skin helper to rebuild its info cache and retrieve the ratings.
6. Open kodi and your ratings should now work. It can take a little while for skin helper to retrieve ratings for the focused item the first time around, so make sure you give it a little bit of time before reporting problems.

Like an idiot, I deleted the simplecache.db using FX File Explorer and now I keep getting error messages from skinhelper (still no rotten tomatoes rating either). Does anyone happen to know how I can undo that delete? I can't find a trash folder in FX File Explorer. Thanks.

Hard to tell without a debug log, but you probably either don't have skinshortcuts installed, have an error with skinshortcuts or its settings are corrupted.

If it's installed, try deleting kodi/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts

People often underestimate the power of the power menu. You can add just about any of your frequently used functions in the power menu for easy access regardless of which screen you are on. I, for example, have "Global Search" set as the first function in the power menu, so all I have to do is press S on my keyboard (to bring the power menu), followed by an enter to go directly into the search box. A real timesaver for someone like me who uses the search function quite often.

That's actually not as convienient as adding the search button at the top left which was more suitable for my wife.  (Who still detests kodi unfortunately)

Aura does not seem to display movie fanart if it is larger than 1080p. Is there a setting to change for this or is this a hard limitation?

Any chance that this Skin gets more than 8 widget support? I see 8 Widgets per Menu is the maximum on Aura where Arctic Zephyr 2 has no limit. Thanks

I've installed Aura from the official Kodi repo (Leia).
Under Skin settings -> Background -> Set Fallback Image I only get the options none and single image.
I knew I had multiple images as background for the main menu with this skin before. Is it missing in this version or am I doing something wrong?

Ah okay, I found it again. You have to go to Customize home menu and change the background for every single entry. There you can choose Multi-Image.

I've been using this skin for a couple of months now and noticed last night that the aspect ratio media flag disappears after a movie has been played once. It comes back if a refresh the movie details but disappears again if I play the movie. I've noticed the missing aspect ratio on some movies since I started using the skin but made the connection of playing the movie and the media flag disappearing just last night.

All media tags are created with Media Companion 3.7.3.3 64-bit.
KODI 18.3 64-bit (Windows 10 1903 / Android 9.0 on Shield TV 2015 and 2017).
