Hello,
I use a Metric Halo 2882 Firewire soundcard, to monitor kodi in 5.1.
It's working perfectly with v17 (I downgraded to check), but in v18 the application crashes very often when I change from video (or stream).
As an exemple I use : videos I have, the Catchup TV and More Add-on and the Netflix Add-on.
When v18 is set on my Metric Halo in 5.1, and I switch between the sources of those 2 Addons and my videos, it crashes very often.
When v18 is set on Built-in Output, in stereo (2.0), it doesn't crash.
I even tried to use another 5.1 soundcard (CSL USB 7.1), virtual 5.1 soundcard (like Soundflower, Loopback...) or use Aggregate devices, it crashes the same.
v17 always works...
Any idea ?
I'd really like to upgrade my installation for v18 (for the Netflix add-on), but it's not possible right now...
Thanks !!

Need the apple crash report matching that last log file in addition. Which audio device have you selected (log shows a lot of available devices).

Ok Memphiz I’ll do that, thanks for your help.
In the last crash with the Metric Halo, i used the device « 2882 », which is the device system name of the Metric Halo.
I forgot an important detail : my Metric Halo works with the v17.6, BUT I have to create an aggregate device, with only the 2882 in it.
I call that aggregate device « Out Kodi », and that’s what I select in Kodi.
When I select directly the device « 2882 », I have issues too (application crashes or sound bugging and cuting).
So I tried of course the same with the v18, but this time the workaround doen’t work anymore...
I’ll post the apple log as soon as possible. Thanks !

Hello,
I've been doing some test this morning...
And I had the same kind of crash using the basic Built-in Output 2.0 defined...
So I think my crashes are not related to my soundcard, finally...
Sorry, I thought I had tested everything before posting this.
Anyway, I'm still with a buggy version of Kodi, who crashes very often when I change of streaming source, I don't know why...

And when it works, between 2 crashes, the Netflix video stream is a bit lagging, while when I watch videos from my hard drive it's absolutely fluid...
When I check the CPU everything looks ok...
I don't understand

Can you try to disable the catchuptv addon for a test?

Stay tuned - I will try to come up with a test build for you later. Good that you have a minimal setup for reproduction now - should make testing my bugfix easier.
