I ended up needing to try a nightly build (for reasons) and found a new behavior that I haven't seen before with v17 or any of the RC v18 builds to date around the TV Show library. This is on 20190108-adb55e29fd. I thought I'd go ahead and report it here (with a log), but if there's a better place to report it, I can submit it there too (i.e. Github I suspect).
Old Behavior:
If I had the same TV Show in two different sources (i.e. E:/NextPVR/TVShows/Black Lightning and E:/PlayOn/Black Lightning) Kodi would merge those into one entry on the TV Show listing. BTW, the use case here is if for some reason I miss a recording of a show, I get it from either the channel's web site or Amazon and then record it using PlayOn.
New Behavior:
If a TV Show folder (even an empty one) is in two different sources, The TV Show shows up twice in the TV Show listing. If I delete one of the listings from the database, both disappear, and if I rescan they both reappear. The only way to resolve this is to delete the folder from one of the two sources. Then I get one entry as expected.
I can obviously adjust my workflow to account for this if it was an intentional change, but in case it was unintentional I wanted to post this. Here's a debug log with a update video library scan. Black Lightning is the particular show I tested with.
