That's strange as I am also using an Ortek VRC-1100 IR receiver, although I'm using a Harmony One remote. I'm not seeing any unusual behaviour, but maybe @HiassofT has an idea.

If you use a Harmony remote make sure you disable the button repeat setting in the Harmony configuration... 

@HiassofT Thanks for the response; yes, reducing the repeat helped via the Harmony configuration tool, however hadn't entirely eliminated the issue (as the repeats can still occur when quickly double pressing a button)
but is manageable (at least for my household)

Please test the latest Milhouse build (1122). I've added a fix for the button repeat issue, with this fix repeat behaviour should be as before (button repeat starting after 1/2 second instead of 1/4 second).
