I'm guessing that the flaws in the logos is a temporary thing, could be due to resizing or just because it's a WIP. There are a few things that need tweaking but I think it's better to wait and see a more finished product before we make any suggestions. Wink

I agree , this is a work in progress and did not mean to shoot the modders down in flames which is why I started with - 'just an observation'
Im sure with the amount of time and effort you (and others) put in you are open to minor suggestion (not critique )

hehe - I usually dont think aloud when in front of keyboard
The reason I was asking was if there are flaws on the logos themselves then the flaws need to be corrected at the fanart website

Also on a different note can I enlarge the focused item in next aired as items appear quite small?

Must get back to work on this. I'll try and perfect the logo look and the gradient tonight. Also need to figure out whether to make the tagline longer so it doesn't scroll and possibly deal with some shorter taglines not being perfectly centered or just leave it. The "problem" with the new theme is that now I'm trying to cater for both, which can be slightly more difficult

For my money, I'd concentrate on the original theme. If it's good enough, it'll get added to both in due course. Regarding the tagline maybe try moving it a touch lower. Going by the preview screens for me at least it looks a touch high, not by much though. Plus it would allow people to change the font if necessary, I know I will Smile Also, you mentioned the length of the tagline. You've got a lot of real estate, use it Wink

IMO scrolling should be kept to a minimum as it ruins the aesthetic of this view, but granted for some movie taglines it's a necessary evil (if I have any that are too long I just rewrite them). Keeping the taglines centred is preferable but I don't know how much work is involved in making it work perfectly. Ultimately it's down to you.

for easier access you can add
<F4>Skin.Theme(1)</F4>
to your keymap. that will toggle through themes.

There may be some truth to what you're saying though. Few skins use such a light background, and most logos are "tailored" for dark skins. I have several logo examples that really don't look good on the lite background. Luckily it's only a few.

I understand that a light skin can drastically change the 'look' of a logo but one of the cardinal rules on fanart.tv is that all logos need to work on white
If they dont then they need some attention in the future

I'm not saying that these logos are flawed. Mostly, the only means of making some of them "work" on a light background is the addition of a drop shadow/outer glow. Sometimes it just isn't that effective.

Will post my taglines font mod when it's complete. Here's where I'm at so far, does anyone think the font is too small?

As always, any and all input is appreciated.

Deano, downloaded the landscape viewtype file and replaced, but I don't get the source flag displayed (still the codec flag) and I have both MPAA ratings flags displayed. Is there something else that I need to do?

Just tested the .xml files with the latest GIT and they work okay for me. Be sure to use ALL of the xmls though. Also, the source flag will not be displayed unless you A) rename the codec in the .nfo to bluray. B) batch rename your video files and suffix them with .bluray

That should give you the results you're after Wink

... where B) should be the preferred option since that will also keep codec info in. A) shouldn´t be done.

Great, thanks for that guys. So the individual movie folders with Bluray isn't sufficient? I also need to rename the .mkv or .m2ts with the bluray suffix?

Correct. It's the video files that need the suffix. Smile
