Kodi Media Player Options with 3D MVC & HD Audio
Almost changed my mind about doing the video, but as I had already done it, posted it for benefit of anyone interested in how HiMedia Q5 handles video playback (namely 3D ISO's) via its external player. See post #1.

Very good video! Finally someone shows how it works!
Nice of you
Honestly, you nearly see its an external player (yes with menu you see) but its switching very fast, i like it!
Nice you can switch 2d/3d easily too, + atmos support + 23.9..
And you can use everytime kodi upgrades! Very cool!
Some last questions, bdmv folder works right?

You might not have meant to be rude, but you certainly came across as unecessarily impatient.

Thank you also, hdmkv.

BTW, is this a projector? If so, and if you are using a receiver to connect your media players: did you manage to play 3d ISO's on VidOn?

Yes, using a BenQ 1070 PJ. Using an Onkyo 636 AVR. Don't have VidOn anymore.

Re: BDMV folder playback, don't know. I save my 2D as movie-only MKV's, and 3D as movie-only ISO's.

ah i see
anyone can confirm bdmv folder playback?

hdmkv, the mkv's you are playing, if setup like in video, does kodi plays it or the himedia player?

not really directed at hdmkv but is there a reason people are looking for 3D iso support instead of just converting to a mvc mkv file ?

Is it to have all the extra features included ?

hdmkv, I see that you rip movie only iso's

I used to rip to MVC MKV's when I had Mede8er 600X3D, but all recent Android players that have supported 3D (VidOn, HiMedia, OpenHour, Zappiti, etc.) only do so in ISO container. So, switched to ISO for 3D only (still do MKV for all 2D) last year. Via Kodi for now, only Raspberry Pi support MVC MKV, and per Koying a Minix box via a special firmware build.

looun, when you say "never found" for 3D folder, do you mean Q5 doesn't see or recognize BD folder when 3D rip is present?

yes, bdmv folder 2D and 3d playback work (tested).
usually from the "web" I get iso 3d.
iso 3d is standard and played from all player 3d, mkv not.

Thanks for the testing work, this is very valuable information. I plan to do the same kind of work, with a different set of boxes, but I'm actually wondering how are you testing the various framerates (50/60/24/23.976/...)? Do you have a fixed set of sources for all the formats you want to test?

Then how do you check the displayed result is correct? You check that it "looks" correct on screen or do you have a more sophisticated way to verify?

Thanks for your help.

Press O on a keyboard during playback.

Also some TVs pop up a message when they change frame rate.
