v17 Horizon - Krypton
jurialmunkey,

I like the option of having an uncovered background image if there are no widgets set. My issue is that the image is pushed over sideways because of the menu on the left. Is there anyway to set the menu to be in if no widgets are present (or in al the time if desired) awaiting a right key press? Blurayx's screenshots seem to show what I am talking about on previous page, he may of edited his skin himself. Strangely, I can get it to happen, when Kodi comes out of the screensaver & then the menu is folded in & background image is shifted back to the left.
Cheers.

I think Blurayx might've just moved the mouse.

The reason your image is shifting over is because you have parallax animation turned on. Turn it off and the background wont be pushed over.

Having the menu opening and shutting randomly would be very confusing. Icon only home menu is already on my todo list.

jurialmunkey,

Thanks, I just realised a few minutes ago that if I move the mouse the menu will fold back. Is it possible to add an extra left click to fold the menu in as happens in other screens when backgrounds are shown full screen?
Another quick sugestion (sorry to be a pain) - currently the overlay on home backgrounds is removed if no widgets are set, which is great. would it be possible to remove the overlay on home backgrounds if a widget is set, but it is empty? The only widget I have set for Movies is "In-Progress Movies", this is not active most of the time but the overlay remains making the background image dull compared to the next menu down which has no widgets set.

Cheers.

Hi Jurial,

I use subtitles for movies and tv shows a lot of times, and I think it is one of the most common options to select in the OSD, but currently to download them I have to open the OSD menu, then click down, then click right 4 times till the Download subtitles option. Could you change to OSD behavior to highlight the subtitles options instead of the much less common audio channels option?

Less important but reasonable too, is to move the Codec Info button to the last option to the left, so Audio and Video are closer to the main OSD menu.

More about Video OSD, does the View Mode do anything at all? when I press it it just close the OSD menu.

Many thanks.

Whilst I think it is a good idea, I haven't been able to figure out a way to hide the overlay when the widgets are empty without using some insanely large condition (12 x 9 widgets = 108 individual checks). I'll think about it some more and try to figure out a better way to do it.

Reorganised both parts of the osd so codec info is on the left and subs is first option.

Yeah Viewmode changes the aspectratio of the video (Zoom, Normal, Original Size etc.). I introduced a bug a while back the made it stop working -- Basically I need to close the osd, do the aspect ratio command and then reopen it. In order for that to happen I need to suppress the animations on the OSD and I forgot about this when I was tweaking some stuff to do with the extended info overlay. Should be fixed now.

I've already addressed mouse support with widgets before. I know it doesn't work and I'm not sure of how to fix it without screwing up how the widgets scroll. Basically I need to do a few tricks to get the spacing from the top bar right, but this causes an overlap the prevents clicking widgets. Not sure if I will ever be able to fix it, but it is on my todo list.

Will look at the requests later tonight.

jurialmunkey,

Think I have found a slight bug. With TV tunes enabled, when entering a TV show to season level, the fanart background doesn't load until the TV theme has finished playing....which for some can be quite some time. This also happens if you go straight from Seasons to Episodes, the background doesn't load there until theme has finished playing.

Cheers.

Added options for these
Skin Settings > Miscellaneous > Use minimal busy loader
Skin Settings > Home > Display text labels on landscape widgets

From the side menu in the addon info -- you should be able to click the addon once to open info and click ok again to open the side blade.

Again, I want to say thanks for this skin. I feel it is brilliant - I am not sure if you are the first, but I have never seen a main menu/sub-menu interface such as what you have with this skin. I love the way it works and how, even on the home screen, you can 'tuck' it away when not in use and give more real estate to the widgets.

At this point, you incorporated enough of my feedback that I believe Horizon will remain my skin of choice for quite some time to come.

This said, below is a consolidated list of feature requests I feel would make this skin perfect - for me of course. Smile I have raised these points before and in most cases you have responded one way or another - I raise them again, not to be a pain, but only because I feel quite strongly about them and to centralize them so you can see them one last time. Regardless of what you do or do not do with below, I will not bug you about them again.

1. Option to set transparency level of fanart backgrounds.

I know you have noted in past posts that this is not something you are planning on doing. I hope you will reconsider - this will be the last you hear of it from me. Smile

2. Improved user experience when changing views.

You have indicated this is on your to-do list, but is a decent chunk of work.

3. Provide option to show time remaining instead of elapsed time on seek bar.

I know you indicated you wanted to keep the same sort of info (time) in the same location on the seek bar and it would be too cluttered to show everything (hence my request for a toggle). However, looking at how a few other programs handle it (apple music and simple control remote), it seems fairly standard practice to have the time remaining show at the very left of the seek bar and elapsed time on the very right. I think adding time remaining to before 'now playing' could work in Horizon - in the event a remaining/elapsed toggle is not feasible/desirable.

4. Option to set the background for each home screen item to random fanart.

Bello 6 has incorporated this very nicely - it provides a number of different options for 'system' generated backgrounds - some are styled in such a way, that would not fit well Horizon - I am speaking more of the available content.

That is it, that is all. Thanks again for this great skin and, as noted above, regardless on the what you do or do not do regarding the points above, you will not hear a peep about them from me again - unless I am saying 'thanks' because you have incorporated some of them. Smile

+1 for background transparency

One suggestion would be that if you add tv show next aired widget to the homepage, it would be nice to see the date the episodes are airing next. Great skin and I love it so far!
