Thanks for the explanation. That behaviour was unobvious after switching from Estuary.

I have another issue with Horizon (and/or Kodi).
The group selector in the TV channels menu doesn't keep the last selected group, it always starts with the first item - All channels - even if it's hidden:

As can be seen on the following picture there is only one available group and it's not All channels:

Feature request:
Would it be possible to make the Horizon splash screen start like GRID(Animated Kodi Logo). When the Horizon splash screen starts up it disappears after 1 second and for about 5-7 seconds I'm left with a blank screen. I think it would add a nice touch to the Horizon splash screen.
If the animated Kodi Logo option is too complex, would it be possible for the current Horizon splash screen to stay visible just before the widgets load?

I don't have a 21:9 display device, so no real way for me to test changes. Plus it is a huge amount of work to make a 21:9 skin because it requires changing the coordinates, spacing and sizing of nearly every single element. Not really something that I'm motivated to do, particularly as I have no use for it personally. Sorry, but it is highly unlikely any time in the near future.

The animated logo isn't that difficult. However, I'm not a big fan of the way GRID handles the splash. Basically it is just an image over the top of the home screen and waits for script.grab.fanart to load. I don't use that add-on, so not really a solution for me. Any hiding of the home screen with a splash is going to involve something a bit hacky, which I'm pretty keen to avoid with startup stuff because there are a lot of different potential scenarios like people using playlist on startup or starting on a different window or having some sort of script run and so on. I'd prefer to just keep the splash simple.

Fantastic work @jurialmunkey, I've come to expect the best skins from you, you never seem to disappoint!

I just wanted to report a bug (possibly?), and a suggestion.

I've found that if I have many main menu items (currently 16), if I'm at the top item, and I press up to jump to the bottom, it only jumps about half way down. This really isn't a problem until you scroll up and widgets are at the wrong locations. It will usually display my top widget until I scroll all the way to the top again then it seems to fix itself. Maybe it's something I'm doing incorrectly as well?

Also, it would be great if I could edit the item that says HOME at the top while on the main menu to say something else. I liked this feature in Eminence (although I was using MOD 2 by alanon, not sure if that was in your original Eminence). Maybe it's as easy as an xml I could edit. I did some poking around but couldn't seem to locate it.

I have an OMDB key and it is entered in the settings for the script.

(Maybe the key is faulty? Do you know if there is a way to test it?)
