Release Aeon Nox: SiLVO
Installed Aeon nox silvo and love the customization available,
Is there a way to show multi background image file name, same like random fanart shows the image name. I have selected multi background image where i have a USB with all movie fanart copied to select as background. I want the file name to show so i know which film the fanart belongs.

Also i have customized the submenu items to browse to a particular files directory but the tripanel list shows 4KB at the end of file name.  Can i sort with rating if i select video/files option
Reply
Extra Fanart is in the extrafanart directory and named "fanart1.jpg". There are 3-10 for each show. I also have episode Fanart in the season directory with the video file. There is only one per episode. The issue is that I want the show and season screens to cycle the extrafanart and the episodes screen to show only the single Fanart for that episode. As it is now all three screens cycle the extra Fanart.

Hello,
I use a directory from the DAZN addon as a widget. Now the problem is that the widget does not have the same context menu as the file browser. This is very important for me, because you can only select the highlights from the context menu.
The attached screen shots make it clear.
I would appreciate help.

Hi Mike.

Does this skin support the new Kodi 18 Artist Information Folder?

Edit: It does. Excellent!

How do I create my own splash screen?

I saved a 1920 x 948 .png file and placed it in the media folder under Aeon Nox, but it is not working.

I saw this in a YouTube video. If this is wrong can someone please help? Thanks

Also, how do I use my own default background in apps? I renamed my PNG file as default_bg in the background folders, but that also did not work for me

Thanks in advance!

The skin works great in Leia/Libreelec 9.0.1. However, I cannot for the life of me understand why the Video OSD was changed from the original Aeon Nox. The placement of it, at the bottom of the screen, makes it so hard to adjust subtitles as the menu is in the way. Moreover, whereas in the original Aeon Nox Video OSD the subtitles were in their own submenu, they are now behind two submenus. I can only assume that the writer isn't a big subtitle user as otherwise he would've used the excellent Video OSD model of the original skin.

The splash file has to be named "splash.png" and it must be in the \kodi\media folder. I think it needs to be 1920x1080 also.
Not sure you can use a .jpg file. I used a .png file.
Also if you are using advancedsettings.xml make sure you rem out the line <splash>false</splash>, remove it or that it's just not there at all (best option).

@HomerJau How to lunch fanartNumber. jpg. I've defined Artist folder, but in my case works only fanart.jpg. Rest of fanart files aren't show during music playback. a

 If you read back a few pages in this thread you'll see where you can grab the latest branch from the authors Git and install it to be able to place the videoOSD bar back at the top

This was a change in Kodi Leia itself and is not related to the skin. If you try any skin, you'll find you have to also go thru two submenus.

Does the skin cycle Fanart by itself or does it require artwork beef or another add-on?

Can subtitles be disabled completely by the skin or Kodi itself?

Various subtitle settings can be changed or they can be turned On/Off (default is on) via the OSD (On Screen Display) while watching a movie by selecting the subtitle menu or audio options.

Note: To make Kodi turn off subtitles by default: While playing a video, bring up the on screen display and select the audio options -> Turn off "subtitles" -> scroll down and select "save as default for all videos".

But this is a nice nice nice skin. 1 thing I noticed, if you add a music widget and select the cover option it's a bit smaller than the image of the album artwork. Which causes the image to poke out the top and bottom. The Clear Case option looks perfect though.

and I don't know if this has been brought up, but it would be cool if it had an option for a more plain next up on the Music OSD. Something like the one in Aeon Spin where it shows the next few tracks. I'm not complaining, and have no idea how much work this would be. But that's really the only thing I don't love about this skin. I have it disabled so no biggie, I'm sure a lot of people love it but imho a basic next up would be a nice addition. Perhaps I need to re-enable the built in one and roll with it for awhile though. Keep up the good work I definitely see myself sticking with this for my main skin.

What about the Test Layout?

You would have to add a a new value and condition to the FanartTitleVar ~ line 100 in Variables.xml

Kodi provides context menu items. Not sure if it can be added by the DAZN add-on or not...

Once added to Kodi it will cycle if you have enabled Extra-fanart.

Use library views and not files mode.

(2019-02-26, 18:14)ukmark62 Wrote: Hi,

I'm trying to find where in the xml files, the difference in animation effects between Krypton and Leia can be found. Specifically, when opening and closing a view in Leia, the animation effects are much more pronounced than the same views in Krypton - e.g. in Landscape view for episodes, the way the screen is loaded in Leia is more "exaggerated" (the movement of the items when they are loaded in Leia is much greater than Krypton). I much prefer the Leia way of doing this.

I'm staying on Kodi Krypton for now - there are some issues still with Kodi Leia for me and was hoping someone could point me to these differences (even if it's just a specific skinning term/keyword that I should be looking for, and then I can search for this in the Leia xml files and change the Krypton xml accordingly).

TIA.

This one is very easy to change. Open Includes_Animations.xml and change:
xml:

<include name="ViewAnimation">
<animation effect="slide" tween="cubic" time="720" start="0,1080" end="0,0">VisibleChange</animation>
</include>
to:
xml:

<include name="ViewAnimation">
<animation type="Visible">
<effect type="zoom" start="150" end="100" center="auto" time="500" tween="cubic" easing="out" />
<effect type="fade" end="100" time="360" />
</animation>
</include>
