Release Aeon Nox: SiLVO
Hi Mike ,
Any consideration of incorporating Trailer playback within home screen ala Netflix as has been implemented in other skins like AuraMod & Titan Bingie Mod ?
Is it OK to post a Video of another skin ?
Otherwise see  here .

Hey there,
i just wanted to change some main menu items and stumbled upon a weird error. I go to Skin Settings>Main Menu>Setup The Aeon Nox Main Menu>Movies>Choose Item For Menu> and then this window pops up and shows me an error. Anyone an idea what that could be?

Subtitles are not being downloaded to the video folder but to a temp folder.
In that temp folder where also the kodi.log can be found are the srt files stored named as 6208.en.srt for example.

In the Kodi settings I have set it to the option download to video folder.

This is on my pc and Nvidia Shield Tv.

Why aren’t the subtitles downloaded to the video folders and named as the video file with language name like this for example.
S.W.A.T. (2017) - 02x17 - Jack - 1080p WEB-DL.en.srt

Thanks.

The current Profiles implementation is flawed and antiquated. Work has commenced on re-writing the code but it will be a long and slow process as "all code leads back to profiles" in Kodi. It is a major job and you won't see it fixed until v19 or v20.

Thanks for the info (sorry for the belated response).  I'll check for a fix in couple of years (i.e., be really patient).  But, given the forecast, I must consider if using a single profile is less pain than falling several years behind.  For me, a tough choice. Again thanks (for the bad news).

Is there any way I can change the color of the "buffering or buffered" portion of the OSD Progress bar? Not the played portion, I know there is a setting for that. I need to lighted the part that shows how much has buffered. I am sure it can be done in one of the files in the 16x9 folder or a png file in the textures file.

Thanks

Hi,

I'd like to pick up a old issue for which there was no real fix : Remove progress bar delay when leaving pause state

I watch a lot of foreign movies with subtitles and after un-pausing the progress bar stays for a bunch of seconds, covering the subtitles which is annoying.

What XML file in the skin should I modify, and what to put there and where, to make sure that when un-pausing, the progress bar goes away immediately.

Thank you for any advice.

PS: And a huge thank you for AeonNox SiLVO, this is by far the best skin for Kodi!

I've been chasing my tail on this for a while now (weeks? couple months?), and I finally found it only happens to Nox Silvo.  Many, many reinstalls of Win 7 Pro x86 and this is what happens:

Music>Artist>Album>(sometimes it hangs here)>play a track (if I'm lucky).
Hit "next" or "back" or anything.
Freezes.  Sometimes shows the circle spinner forever, sometimes crashes with a blank C++ error, sometimes gives the Windows, "xx has cashed, what do you want to do?" or "searching for a solution" message.

This is on a dedicated machine, but I've now tried it on 3 different ones (all 7 x86) and it's easy to replicate.  I'm using 18.1 and Silvo (from repo) and Artwork Beef (from repo).  The only other things I have installed are things like Youtube and Trakt and bonus scrapers and the like.  I have a pretty decent sized library of 10k+ artists and 180k+ songs, but I even pared it down to just #-E and I got the same behavior.  I have set the Artist Info folder and cleared out all the dupe Artist-related files from my Artist folders (only CD and coverart remain in the respective album dirs).

I switch to Estuary and everything works perfectly with the entire library scanned.  I really don't want to leave this great skin, and I thank you for your work.  I've been using Silvo since it came out, but music not working is a biggie for us.

Log: https://pastebin.com/Z4ELm9xj
In this instance, I tried to go to an artist, got the spinner, hit back repeatedly like it might work eventually, tried to exit (through the Power menu), hung up, had to kill it in task manager.

Thank you,
dkoh

The skin has no control over subtitles and where they are placed.

I see errors in your log with:
Code:
Window Translator: Can't find window MyFiles
Window Translator: Can't find window MyMusicFiles
Window Translator: Can't find window MyMusicLibrary
Window Translator: Can't find window VisualisationSettings
ECT....

A quick google search led me HERE.

The next set of errors are:
Code:
ERROR: CBaseTexture::Allocate - Could not allocate 16777216 bytes. Out of memory.
DEBUG: CBaseTexture::LoadFromFileInternal - Load of special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/b/b429e437.jpg failed.
ERROR: CImageLoader::DoWork - Direct texture file loading failed for special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/b/b429e437.jpg

After this you appear to run out of memory:
Code:
ERROR: CBaseTexture::Allocate - Could not allocate 16777216 bytes. Out of memory.
DEBUG: CBaseTexture::LoadFromFileInternal - Load of special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/3/3b42a1af.jpg failed.
ERROR: CImageLoader::DoWork - Direct texture file loading failed for special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/3/3b42a1af.jpg

An almost 17mb .jpg file seems rather large and my largest on my PC is 29mb which is a 16256 × 4152 size image.

I have no idea if any of the above is the true cause but if that is the actual size of your image then that could be it. Alternatively Kodi may be having some kind of memory leak or there is some other underlying cause to all of this that has nothing to do with the skin.

Estuary does not do all of the things that this skin does so not every comparison is proof of a skin problem, however, I cannot be 100% certain that it is not a skin problem... Confused

Maybe @DaveBlake or another Kodi Dev can take a look at your log and perhaps see what the issue is Huh

I am just guessing here cause what else can I do? My gut is telling me you are either missing a Skin Shortcuts dependency or you may need to use the version from GitHub. A debug log (wiki) might be helpful...

Hi @mikeSiLVO

Just a tiny formatting blooper. Underneath the name Chicane, one line is partly cut...

That's a weird one. It looks like you have disambiguation added to your album count...

I don't see how that could both be displaying at the same time.

If Skin Info Service is not installed:
xml:

$INFO[Container(50).NumItems,, $LOCALIZE[132]]
That should just be the scraped amount of albums the artist has in total.

If Skin Info Service is installed then it is the amount of albums you have in the library:
xml:

$INFO[Window(Home).Property(Artist.Albums.Count),, $LOCALIZE[132]]

Lastly if Skin Info Service is installed and either Artist Sortname or Artist Disambiguation are not empty then a fadelabel would show a single line for each of the following INFOlabels:
xml:

$INFO[Window(Home).Property(Artist.Albums.Count),, $LOCALIZE[132]]
$INFO[ListItem.Property(Artist_Sortname)]
$INFO[ListItem.Property(Artist_Disambiguation)]

That's a pic from Leia skin?

EDIT: If you can PM me a copy of your music db file I can try to replicate... Huh

I'll look into those other issues and report back, but I have the thumbnails right in front of me.

"Could not allocate 16777216 bytes" is the same for each error.  Could it be that it hit a memory ceiling?  I have had a suspicion that that may be the case, but I've had nothing but remote/focus problems with x64 and am trying to stay x86 (unless someone has a remote solution).  My recent woes started here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=342194 but it went OT, to these problems, rather quickly.

Not sure if you prefer PM but I do not have that artist in your DB file...?
I can send pic in PM if you prefer.
Reply
In that DB the following Artists...

Nico & Vinz
Sam Martin
Arthur Conan Doyle (audiobook author)

If no good, let me know and I will send the larger db from main install. If it is a pic of DB, then that is fine here, they are all test albums.

I honestly couldn't tell you if it is 32/64 bit related. That is way above my pay grade but 64 bit has been around for a very long time. Windows should know how to tell the difference and run 32 bit apps correctly. Are you 100% sure that you deleted everything Kodi, added your song library fresh, and did not re-install from some kind of backup?

I hate to be a cynic but a lot of users post that it works in another skin and more often than not it is just not true or they are mistaken on their assumptions ...
