sorry had no effect. i tried a folder with no spaces and one mp3 with no spaces. as soon as i enter that folder off the root, it just gives a duplicate listing of the root folder.

not sure if its relevant or not but i have "hide media extension" on and in the root it works. mp3 files do not show up with .mp3 but in a folder where it duplicates the files, they are listed as the full file names including the extension. not sure if its relevant or not.

any files that are actually under folders never show up. no matter what, its always a duplicate listing of the root folder.

t3ch 3-28 was the last working build for me.

isnt the nameserver/dns set wrong??

ip and gateway ip´s looks like standard router ip´s so should the dns be set to the same as the roouter?

i have the same ip to both dns and gateway always have had.

i use dhcp, i just happen to be testing something totally unrelated when i grabbed that log.

i still suggest u to make the one directory throu the html interface and then have all the other folders in it.
i had strange problems with my landrive in xbmc when i had many root folders.

i have only one "root" with shares off of that but thats neither here nor there. xbmc used to work with it before some of the smb fixes where added after march 28th.

clarification to what i mean.

ex.
e:\ <---- root
e:\whatever1\ <------- root folders
e:\whatever2\ <------- root folders
e:\whatever3\ <------- root folders

i suggest u should have it like this in u´r nas

e:\public\whatever1\
e:\public\whatever2\
e:\public\whatever3\

so that the only folder in the root is "public"

yup, i have a storage root with all the shares coming off it if

ie

storage\music
storage\videos
storage\pictures

etc

i have upgraded to the 2006-04-12 t3ch build and am having the same problems with the contents of smb shares not being displayed.

i also have a build from the end of march that i also use, which picks up the content of the smb shares flawlessly.

whatever the problem is, it's crept in the last few builds.

just installed t3ch's latest and my smb landdrive has stopped working with xbmc now too. i can see my 3 shares at their top level (e.g. music, video, pictures) but can't browse their subfolders.

back to an older version for me then.

okey, people who have troubles with this. i need a log file with full samba logging enabled. you can do this in xboxmediacenter.xml.

then try to enter a very simple subfolder with no spaces and no special characters. only do this once as the log will be huge nomatter what. then upload somewhere where i can grab it, or to www.nightfalltech.net/upload

i was going to buy one of these landrives, until i read this in the faq:

surely 12 char isnt right, even the xbox file system support more char

thats bullshit,, i have that chassi and no limitations whats so ever, i have seen that they say that on the faqs but that must be for compatibility for everything
