In previous versions, I could enable or disable Home screen menu items, but I am not seeing that option in the latest version.

You need to bring up the context menu for an item:

Some folks seem to be having a hard time with the move of certain functions in the Main Menu customizer to the context menu so...

I don't want anybody needing to scroll but I also do not want it to be annoying so time to get some opinions here.

Leave it the way it is, work on a re-design (which I am hesitant to do), or make the buttons smaller so more of them fit on screen without having to scroll?

My personal opinion:
1) Scroll down: OK
2) Make buttons smaller like the screenshot you just posted: OK (yes it looks "crowded" but I don't mind because this is a setting menu, I see it like once a year).

3) The way it's now implemented on Krypton: OK (but I agree the option needs to be made explicit/intuitive to the user).

I'm not sure how option 3) plays for people who don't have a keyboard attached to their Kodi's, I have a remote with enough keys so I'm able to map the context menu, but some people may be using those new slick apple remote that have like one-key-to-rule-them-all

PS: is it possible to add an option to choose which menu will be automatically selected when kodi starts up? I think right now in Jarvis it shows the "most in the middle".

So here's my problem: what I'm trying to do is add a new window between 'TV Shows' from the main menu and the actual list of TV shows that contains a user-generated filter to list only my shows, my wife's shows, shows we both watch, or all shows. I've managed to do this by creating tags and tagging each show appropriately, and then sending 'TV Shows' from the default action to: ActivateWindow(Videos,"library://video/tvshows/tags.xml/",return)

Functionally this works as expected, but visually it's pretty ugly:



It looks like only two views are available for this page, List and Icons. What I'd like to do is customize icons for each tag and hide the 'New Rule...' option (which should result in four large panels roughly centred on the screen). I would also like to change the order if possible, and rename 'TV Shows' on this screen to 'All Shows'.

I admit that a big part of the problem is that I'm pretty ignorant about Kodi skinning, and I suspect the best solution would be to create an entirely new XML page to link the Home screen action to. Would anyone be able to help me out with this, or possibly have any suggestions?

I would create menu items for them. I have a similar set up for my shows and kids shows.
You could create a menu item for TV Shows which would link to all shows like normal. That is already there acutally.
Then menu item for Jack shows and one for Jill shows (you/wife). Link the menu item back to your playlist and use playlist for the widgets to show them above w/ artwork and all. I think its way more user friendly and especially wife friendly. More remote control friendly too w/ fan art and cover art.
Or you could:
Standar Menu item "TV Shows".
Then using list view for the widgets link the 1st widget to playlist jack and 2nd widget to playlist Jill.
You could also add sub menus that link back to the playlist as well.
I personally prefer a whole other menu item but this can get it all on one screen.

I created new main menu items as well. Movies are in folders such as Movies (all movies), Mom Shared, Movies Mom, Movies Anim (kids). I then create smartplaylists to use as the menu source and background artwork. Easy, intuitive and quick. Plus visually appealing with the background artwork applicable to the menu item. I do the same for TV Shows as well.

(Actually, I have Mom Shared in a sub menu, but it would be easy to move to a main menu item.)

I'm using Krypton, lastest version of Aeon Nox Silvo and I can't figure out how to modify the home menu anymore: using the context touch ("C") doesn't do anything.
Any idea?

I discovered a lot of things weren't working anymore (I changed from the zip install to the install through the windows store when installing Krypton maybe it's why). So, I decided to do a clean install and right now it seems everything works.

The only preferences are SiLVO in all caps besides the "i" and any font used be licensed for non-commercial open source projects.

I no this is irrelevant but for the love of god I can't find what I'm looking for in any of the forums on here! All I want to know is why my exodus deletes episodes after I've watched them when I have changed the settings to not erase them after I have watched them?! I'm using it on fire stick and it's so annoying as I'm trying to show my mum walking dead and there gone I have tried to keep changing the settings to unwatched or watched to get them back and nothing! Is there away to reset it without deleting everything?

while playing music i get under a scroll with some wierd info like few songs thats it,, i use artist slide show in setting .
but in alot of songs i only get a full info like bio etc ,, where i not getting full bio i am sure there is artist info available cause it worked in earlier versions of kodi,, how do i get full bio info in the scroll at the bottom of the screen instead of only few album info?

It doesn't seem so. I just checked and I couldn't find a setting for that. I think that what you are looking for is a feature Mike added only to the Krypton version of the skin.

As you know, prior to Krytpon the Addons menu was accessible via the System menu—but now it is gone. As a workaround, I now access the Addons menu via Videos main menu. Has this now become the popular method or is there a shortcut or context menu I can take advantage of?

I don't mind using the context menu because it make the main menu look cleaner, BUT I know that for a lot of people, the more they have to click, the more confusing and troublesome the interface is. I provide daily IT support in a company with several thousand employees and know that simpler is better. Thanks.

Hi all, I have some issues with widgets. If I setup the widget to "skin helper service widgets - episodes airing today" it shows episodes airing tomorrow as per screenshot.
Any idea how to fix it?
