Release Aeon MQ 9 - Matrix, Nexus and Omega
@mihawk90
The option to disable media flags is not part of the default skin. I added that option to the Top Menu in my Multi-Mod.

Will this skin support the new skinning engine ABI after Omega Beta 2?
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

It's just... not working for me, just showing the default backdrop instead. It's supposed to show random backdrops from the respective library, right? The same kind of thing is working fine in Bello so it should be possible 🤔 Not sure if I'm doing something wrong though.

☝️ Anyone got an idea on that part?
I also randomly tried it with Copacetic yesterday and it worked fine there too... seems to me like the functionality is working in Kodi but something's off in the skin. Given that noone else is mentioning it though I'm inclined to think it works for others...

Hello, I'm on a shield tv 2019

I have a problem to set background picture to a custom menu.
I made a top menu to use a video playlilst and the option for fanart background is not present (It could be? is there a way to have it?)
The menu work perfectly but I have a black background:

When I want to set a specific background picture (only one) it can find anything in "external storage\Pictures\Kodi\Aeon" (I create this folder) I also try to put the default aeon background it can't see them

Could you please help me to set the background?

Thanks

Not sure how many people use movie set function (movie collection) in KODI, I don't know if I'm the one person happend inserting the new movie's discart trouble in exist movie collection. Maybe is movie collection art is too difficult to maintain for KODI users, especially not English language area people. Or others use Wanilton's combo set of AEON9 to play, so the problem isn't exist. Anyone can share your experience about inserting new movie's discart status in exist movie collection?

Hi. I have a problem which I don't know if it's Aeon MQ related or it's the way Kodi works itself.

I use Kodi Nexus in a Nvidia Shield, with Aeon MQ 9 installed, and spanish as my language for the app, the database and everything else. This version of Kodi/Aeon doesn't show the country from a movie "in words", as previous versions did. Now it has to show the country flag icon in the movie info screen. But I'm only able to see the flag when the country name in spanish is spelled exactly like the country name in english. I.e: "Argentina" in english is the same in spanish, so I can see the argentinian country flag. But if if the movie country is "Reino Unido", spanish name for english "United Kingdom", there's no shown flag. I'm sure this language issue is the reason, because I've searched every country in my movie database and it happens every time.

How could I solve this behaviour? I've searched everywhere in the Android Kodi folder, but I don't know what is the folder or exact file in which the name of the flags is pointed or selected.

Many thanks.

I believe you need to create new flags with Spanish names for the flags your missing. Here is a copy of the country flags from the skin's Texture file. Copy the flag folder in the zip to skin.aeonmq9/media. Then open flags > countries and rename your flags. See if that works for you.

Excellent!! That was the solution. I've translated all the country file names and copy them to that route, and voilà! Now I can see all the flags in the info screen and on the info bar. Thank you very much. If you need all the files with the translated names just tell me.

I have a similar problem. When I use any movie genre addon, I can see only the icons which are spelled the same in english and spanish. I.e. "western" or "romance" are the same. But I cannot see the rest of them. Is there any way to copy the icon files to any route, translate them, and show them in the addon? This one, for example: Add-on:Movie_Genre_Icons_-_Filmstrip_HD_-_coloured (wiki)

You're welcome...glad that worked for you! Sure...if you can make your translated flags available I will add them to the Textures file. Thanks!

Here are the Filmstrip HD icons. Copy them to addons\resource.images.moviegenreicons.filmstrip-hd.colour\resources and rename them.

You can decompile the Textures.xbt file from other add-ons (if you need to get copies of the images) by downloading the TextureTool.

@latts9923 Here you have a link to download the translated files: Kodi Addons spanish files

I've tried to follow your tips for the Filmstrip HD icons addon, and somehow got it to work, but let me explain:

1. I've copied the genre icons to addons\resource.images.moviegenreicons.filmstrip-hd.colour\resources, and I've translated all the file names. Then Kodi doesn't notice at all. [Is there any particular subfolder I could create in this route for it to work?]

2. With the TextureTool you provided, I recompiled all the translated genre icon files on a Textures.xbt, and replaced the original one on addons\resource.images.moviegenreicons.filmstrip-hd.colour\resources. Then Kodi began to show some translated icons, but not all of them (there wasn't any icon in these last ones). I noticed the problem was in the files with a written accent, which were not directly recognized by Kodi.

3. I thought maybe it was a character code related problem, so I replaced the accented letter in those file names with their UTF-8 counterpart (i.e. "á" is "á", so "Fantástico.jpg" changes to "Fantástico.jpg"). I recompiled again the Textures file, and bingo! All of them are now recognized. I'd prefer to use particular subfolder directly in the Android file system, and in ANSI code, but at least there's a solution for this problem. I've included all these files in the link above, so you have the UTF-8 translated files and the recompiled Textures.xbt files, all of them in spanish (as well as the translated country flags files, these in ANSI code).

Now I have a derivated problem. When I select the Movie - Genres from the submenu, I'm able to see all the icons without trouble. But when I try to do the same thing via Widget (Movies > Genres > sort by genre) I don't see the icons. There seems to be a different set of movie genre icons in the widget than the one selected in Aeon MQ 9 for the genre submenu option, and I'm not able to find where they are taken from. This is what I see:

Image

That's the screen when I select the Genre widget sorted by genre. The icons are correctly displayed on the bottom row.

Image

And this is what I see when I bring down directly the widget. The icons should be on the bottom row, but I'm only able to see that "Romance" icon, which is the second one on the row. All the others aren't displayed, and besides the Romance icon is from a different icon set I cannot find on the Android file system.

Any tip for this?

Many thanks!

I don't see a way to download anything in the link you provided.

I'll have to try copying the filmstrip images to the resources folder...that should have worked.

It looks like the Movie genre widget is using the music genre setting in SKIN SETTINGS > ICONS AND IMAGES. I'll take a look at the code.

How strange... It's a WeTransfer link, it sends to a webpage and there's a Download button.

Please try with these Googledrive links instead:

Thank you.
