Mod Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega)
(2024-04-07, 04:14)marius37bv Wrote: Hello! How do i migrate from nexus mode to omega mode without taking everything from the beginning like background and skin settings . What xml file i need to replace? Does Settings.xml file will do? Thank you!
@marius37bv. No, settings.xml will not do it. what you need is to install "Skin Helper Service Skin Backup" (it is located in LATTS` REPO --> Program add-ons). Practice saving and restoring (I would create separate directory, outside of Kodi  installation directories) your settings. Once you install MQ9 reinstall "Skin Helper Service Skin Backup" and your settings GUI. It works, no need for re-configuring your customizations.

@latts9923 I just noticed that in view 28 the upper left "fanart" insert is cycling fanarts. Is there way to disable it?.

Note:
This started after I added "Artwork Beef" add-on. It is a very nice enhancement, but could we have a "toggle" switch to enable/disable?.

Is there any chance we could have a HDR flag as well as the SDR one in the movie information area also AV1 flag for media type would be nice.

I Forgot a 10bit flag would be nice also

@Stelle artois In both cases you need to include those in file name, for instance "movie.name.year.HDR.10bit.4K.mkv".

@marius37bv No, not exactly. Install "Skin Helper Service Skin Backup" while in "Nexus MQ9". Create backup (specify directory outside Kodi installation) of your GUI. Run restore of that backup just to make sure that it works. Install "Omega" including @latts9923 1.1.9 update. If need be reinstall "Skin Helper Service Skin Backup" and then run restore from it. All your GUI settings and customization's should be back.

@Ghost78 If you installing Kodi from "scratch" you might have to install latts9923 repo first and then install the skin from that repo. How did you tried to installed when you got this message?. I run this skin, MQ9, in Kodi 21 without any issues.

I'm running Omega 21 in portable mode. I don't understand the skin settings script instructions. I added the fovourites to my user_data folder and the "kodi folder above that" is what's confusing me. I'd think that would be the portable_data folder but that didn't do it.  Then I tried the addons folder. That integrated with the aeonmq9.mod file and that was a no. I added the contents of the mq9 .omega mod scripts to the scripts file in mq9 itself but nope.
And the favourites xml I added to user_data is showing in my menu favoutites in the main menu but that doesn't seem correct either. Correction, I did another restart and now have all 37 showing.
So what is the correct placement that these scrips and the fav xml are supposed to go In a portable version?

I usually run a portable but this is the first time I've had to add scripts this way.

It worked

@HD_Lat
I'm running Omega in portable mode as well. You place the scripts folder under the portable_data folder, and the favourites.xml goes under portable_data/userdata.
