It supports 802.11ac 2x2 (MIMO)... It probably has Broadcom's new BCM4354 chip See HERE

Even with mediocre wifi signal, you should have no problem getting 15mbps which you'll be hard pressed to find a 1080p video with a high bitrate that exceeds that.

Wifi is my issue I have with my RaspberryPi running RaspBMC, that will be solved with this.

Is there any way to confirm that it has the BCM4354 chip in it ?
That would definitely be a reason to wait for this one for me !!
Are there any other boxes currently using this chip ? the specs look really good...

That doesn't mean XBMC is able to build for x86 android. Not yet atleast.

Android versions of XBMC for x86 have been available for a long time now

802.11ac is 5GHz and is far better than 2.4GHz.
I get over 150Mbps, both up and down, on my Nexus 5 while connected to 5GHz.
When I'm on 2.4GHz I only get 13Mbps to the same router. (Netgear R7000)

Much much more complicated than that.... I'm very doubtful it will work right away. It will take some time until we see a working build.

I'm also a bit of a noob with android xbmc. Last time I tried, I liked it but eventually stopped using it as I couldn't get my android device to do 24p. Is this still the case? One might hope that this device being dedicated to video has the necessary display modes to do 24p...

It would have been a no-brainer over the FireTV if it just had Ethernet, darn it!

Also, if Google could license AirPlay from Apple, that would pretty much make this the best STB, bar none.

So this is an Atom, but with PowerVR graphics?

Will this likely run OpenELEC, i guess not?
