Mod Aeon MQ 9 Multi-Mod for Kodi 20 (Nexus)
Great question. I did the first time but afterwards, I no longer got the same results of access to some of the features. I know its a user error on my part. I wonder if any type of a file transfer or backup process would work and coincide with do this at all. IE: backup userdata, thumbnails, or a way to back up customizations. IDK. It would be nice!

I have a fix for the 8bit flag showing for all content.

You're welcome!

Unfortunately, when I add these new views they come with custom skin strings that are not part of the default MQ 9 code. The only way to apply them to settings.xml (as far as I know) is to add those strings to customReset.xml and reset the skin.

You're welcome! I saw your PM...I'll get back with you.

Regardless, I think we are all very happy with the work that you do and pleased with all of your efforts. I know I am. regardless, I have really learned a lot in the last month, thanks to you and a few others. 👍

Do not worry about it, if there were a simpler way you would have already done it!

Again, thank you very much for all your time consuming hard work maintaining these skins!

@latts9923, great. This is just a minor glitch, nothing to be worries about. This skin, MQ 9, has a different "flow" in comparison to MQ 8 but it looks like a good step forward. Thank you for all of your great work!.

Unfortunately I tried cheating by not doing a skin reset or saving and replacing the skin settings.xml but I finally just gave in, it was the only way I could get things straight. I even tried comparing the settings.xml created after the reset with the existing one but there are too many differences given my extreme level of customization. So yeah, I spent a couple days just getting my main menu and submenus mostly back close to how I like them, for the second time in as many months. Now I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time because @latts9923 makes it sound like every time he adds a view it will require a reset? This is not a deal breaker and in no way detracts from the excellent work he is doing porting his mod to MQ9, so once again, thank you @latts9923.

The only idea I have is that the next time a reset is required is to save the ...\userdata\addon_data\skin.aeonmq9\settings.xml with your customization. Then reset the skin before applying the update and saving that settings.xml (which will be pretty much default) settings.xml as well. Apply the update and reset again. Then compare the pre and newly created post update default settings.xml files isolating the new lines and add them to the settings.xml with the customization and then using that one. Now, having said that I don't have enough experience with a file comparison program to confidently do this myself so perhaps someone with better knowledge of and more experience using a file comparison program like WinMerge could give this a try and share their results? If a user steps forward I'll be happy to explain my idea better or provide the files to compare?

Until then if anybody comes up a workaround for this issue please let us know? If not it looks like we will all be doing our settings at least (say it with me in your best Mexican accent) One More-time. Wink

@juan Mortyme If you are trying to compare 2 xml files to find the differences you should be usiing DiffMerge...
@latts9923 A nit for you to look at for the next update. I noticed that when I have Theme set to My Theme that on the Settings main menu page Theme in Use is blank. On your MQ8 Mod it would display "Theme in Use My Theme". If you set the Theme to any other (Zen for example) then it displays the correct theme name (it displays "Theme in Use Zen" in the example).

I forgot all about your zip files and have been "beating my head against a wall" trying to get the updated mod loaded from the first time and now there is a new one out. Unfortunately, when I click on the link you posted now, it gives me a message, "No preview available. File is in owner's trash." Any chance you could help a guy out? lol I would be very grateful! Please let me know. Thanks!

@latts9923
I found a Zip file for the mod and didn't even have to change anything in my customizations!!!
THANKS GUYS!!! Of course, I want to learn how things are done. That's how my brain works but for now, I can stop bugging everybody about it and get done what I need to. Smile

THANKS AGAIN!!!!

Well, I can almost stop bugging you. lol everything is looking good. However. My movie posters are clips from a movie and they are only doing so with my movies marked as watchedHuh This is regardless of view types. I've tried to close and go back into Kodi. I've tried to change between default and extra fanart as well as use artwork Helper. Any ideas on what this is or how to fix it?

What fonts does the skin currently support? I did a skin reset, but I can only choose between the default and Arial font. Is that correct or should the Modern font be included? I have no plans to use the Modern font, but I'm just curious if I'm missing something.

I would like to use "Cyrillic" fonts from MQ-8. MQ-9 fonts are not so "eye" friendly IMHO.

I agree. I think @latts9923 will add it at some point. But he has so many things on his checktlist, that we just have to wait patiently.

Do you see the Modern font in the list of fonts to choose from?

I am pretty sure @latts9923 will bring MQ9 to the same level of excellency as he did with MQ8. It take time to do so and I understand the level of complexity of the task. At this point I am, and I hope other users, presenting my "wish" list.
As for "Modern" fonts, in Settings --> Appearance I can only select Default or Arial font. In Settings --> Menu Bar Style Font selector there is several fonts but non of them has name identification so it is hard for me to tell which one is "Modern" or not.

Thank you. Since you have the same options for the main skin fonts (default/arial), I assume the latest skin additions are added correctly to my settings.
