Its funny it say NEW when Kodi has been around for ages but it is really cool how they promote KODI use correctly and advise against piracy usage.
You must have missed page 53 with the usual suspects.

"Another blow for Kodi" I doubt it's a 'blow' that these fully loaded boxes are banned, probably more the opposite.
Author messaged. Given that we're working directly with Amazon on trying remove boxes, I can't see how this is a blow for us.

It's the Daily Mail. They're not famed for being familiar with either facts or reality.
Hi guys i recently upgraded my windows Kodi v16 to v17 based on a news that v16 links will not carry any HTTPS support. Now I just read through this link to banned site removed that claims all of this was bull crap news and it was a way to sell more boxes. SOmeone kindly clarify what the heck is going on. SOme of these bloggers have nothing but technical jargon to talk about, none of them have the ability to make this simpler for anyone like this idiot. He's talking about SSL 2 like all of us a microsoft engineers, someone kindly verify and explain this.
Sure fact: If you don't use piracy addons-which-must-not-be-named, you shouldn't care.
If you do use them, *we* don't care.
Anyway, the only users who might need to upgrade their hardware are the ones desesperatly needing TLS 1.2 and using an android device with an android version < Android 5.0 Lollipop (and OSX/iOS users, I think), because they'd need Kodi 17.
Bottom-line: If you venture in dark alleys without knowing your way, don't be surprised if shadowy people try to take advantage of you.
I've just read that kodi 16 has had a patch added to it so it can now play the https so no need to upgrade the older boxes, Anyone hear or confirm this for me ?

Kodi 16 is dead and buried. Some Jarvis forks might have bumped python, but those are not Kodi.
If you find such forks using the Kodi brand, please inform us because they are clearly not only abusing our trademark but also causing confusion, obviously.
