I'm able to do this for movies, but not for movie set.

see below screenshot which shows information for a movie set.
I'm looking for a way to display this view using nvidia remote only.

How did you get this view (as you showing)?

This screenshot was shared by latts on post #18, when 1.0.0.1 was released.
It shows movie set information view.
The Context Menu for movie set doesn't contain 'information' button, unlike context menu for a movie.

i understand that on Windows, there is a keyboard shortcut, and if you press 'I' you can open this information view for Movie Set.
My concern is that this is not possible with Nvidia Shield.

@andrzejls as you use a wifi keyboard, maybe you could give it a try to confirm if keyboard shortcuts also works on the shield? other than this, it looks like shield users can't display movie set information view because this option is not on the contect menu...

Hi, thanks for your response. As I said I use Rii wify mini keyboards with NVIDIA Shields Pro and the 'I' key(shortcut) does bring this Movie Set Info screen. I cannot find a way to activate this view through NVIDIA remote. As I said previously. Shield remote is limited and that was a reason that I switched to Rii mini keyboard.

I don't get any error. It transfers about 25%, then Libreelec reboots. I tried renaming it to texture.tmp. Still reboots. I even zipped up the file. That didn't work either. Still reboots.

So silly question... Is Kodi running when you try to copy the texture file? Ive never run Librelec (and probably would never either) so not 100% sure if you can run Librelec without launching Kodi.

How are you copying the file (samba share, scp, etc)... Earlier versions of Librelec (around 9.1) had the reboot issue when copying files larger than 500mb.

Did you try and copy the file to a temp location then move it to where it should live?

Kodi is running when I try to copy the file.

I tried copying via samba share and off of a usb thumb drive hooked up to the pi. I've tried copying it directly into the media folder, and to the downloads folder. Everything I do results in Libreelec restarting.

For those interested, I got it working by switching from a 5TB hard drive to a 256GB SSD.

Hi,

I just updated the skin and noticed that there are still these old rom collection browser skin files included in Aeon MQ8. The issue with those skin files is that they are built on an old version of RCB and don't work for years now.
Screenshots/Fanarts are not displayed, filter options don't work and settings can't be opened. Here is a screenshot of how it looks like:



I recommend to delete those files from the xml folder of Aeon MQ8 (as you already did in Aeon MQ7 Leia Mod)



For those who don't want to miss the panel view, someone made this view for me a while ago and integrated it in RCB directly (so it won't break anymore if RCB gets an update). I hope malte will include it in his addon soon

It's been a year or two since i have set this up last in it's entirety. I believe i have everything installed that i need too...but I am struggling with getting some artworks to show in on the left hand side. I'm  not even sure what is supposed to be showing up there, can someone tell me what I should see and what i need to do to get them to show up? 

I believe the top left one is some kind of Rating image...not sure about the two below it.

What normally displays in the area you are referring to (top left squares) is the budget and revenue information about the movie.
This information comes from a dependency plugin called metadata and artwork module  (script.module.metadatautils). This is usually installed with the skin but to get it to work you need your own personal API keys for the various online scraper databases.  OMDB, TMDB and Fanart TV. These API keys are usually free (i think), you need to apply at the various sites.

Hi @latts9923.  First off thanks for all the great work.

I think I found 2 bugs related to music playback.

1 - Music Visualization: up/down/left/right (next track / previous track / ...) controls usually don't work as expected in my scenario, I think it's related to disabling lyrics

I just realized this might affect my Nvidia Shield but not my Linux desktop.  Not sure why.  It happens 9/10 times on my Shield but I can't repo right now on my linux desktop.

I have 'SHOW LYRICS' disabled but I think the skin is behaving as if they were enabled.  I've confirmed 1) the controls works as expected if I hit back on the Shield remote first, 2) they work as expected in Estuary.

My settings are:

- layout 2
- show furniture enabled
- hide furniture after... disabled
- hide furniture when OSD... enabled
- similar artists / lyrics / next tracks disabled

2 - For some artists, extra fanart does not display in the music visualization but it does display when I'm in the artists menu or main menu.

If I start immediately with an artist I know doesn't work I get a black screen in the music visualization.  If I start with one that works then switch to one that doesn't, the last image displayed for the previous working artist is displayed indefinitely.

Note that I have 'ART -> EXTRA FANART' selected in the music dropdown where you can also select 'SETTING (VISUALIZATION WINDOW)'.  If I select 'DEFAULT FANART' there the non-working artists works.

Some things I've noticed that might provide clues:

- my 'non-working' artist has a fanart.jpg but no 'extrafanart' directory
- my 'working' artist has both a fanart.jpg and an 'extrafanart' directory (long time kodi user, I just learned this is no longer recommended from one of your threads)
- directory structure is <root>/<artists>/<album n>
- in the menus, the non-working artist is cycling through fanart I don't even have in the artist directory.  So it seems Kodi pulled more fanart from somewhere and the skin does have access to it, but the music visualization is not displaying it.

I do not see any problems on my end with the setup as you described on #1. For #2, I have a fix for the missing fanart when using extrafanart. When browsing artists or playing music, if you have "EXTRA FANART" enabled and it is missing for an artist, it will display the default fanart instead.

Thanks for taking a look.  I ran some more tests including re-installing the skin on my Sheild (uninstall + delete .kodi/addons/<skin dir>, re-install from your repo (note kodi did not re-download it went straight to install)).  I have a bit more info:

This reproduced for me even after re-installing the skin.  I found a work-around which was to disable the CU LRC Lyrics plugin itself.  Once I did that the up/down/left/right always work as expected for me in the music visualization.  This is fine for me since I don't really care about the lyrics.  Note that my linux install where things work fine does have the CU LRC Lyrics plugin enabled.

The black and white background in that screenshot is my <root>/<artist>/fanart.jpg, and for this particular artist I don't have an <artist>/extrafanart directory.

The red-circled area contains the images that get cycled through when I'm in the 'MUSIC -> Artists' menu.  I don't have explicit copies of these images in my <artist> folder (Kodi must have pulled them from somewhere).

When I have extra fanart selected as described before, for this artist I get a black screen in the music visualization.

I understand you'll fallback to fanart.jpg if no extra fanart is found but I have another question:

Do you know if there's any way to have the images displayed in that red circled box above be part of the music visualization background screenshots?  I'm 100% sure this was happening for my 'working' artist before since I was seeing images I didn't have in their <artist>/extrafanart directory.  But now that I've toggled settings 20+ times and reinstalled the skin I'm currently no longer seeing them.  My explicit extrafanart files are old and Kodi seems to have found better ones.

@latts9923 I have to agree 100% with @Ambidex. I have exactly the same problems as he has described and demonstrated. Music Extra fanart cycles everywhere for the music (such as when music is playing and I'm on the main menu, demonstrated in Ambidex's image) and even in the selection level of the music itself. As soon as I go to the main music screen, it goes black. If I change the option to slideshow (rather than extra fanart), then the slideshow does not work either in the visualisation screen (everywhere else it does), but it will display a single image rather than a black screen.

What artwork setting do you have enabled in Music Viz? If it's "ARTIST FANART" it uses the same Skin Helper function as the window on the Home screen. If using "SLIDESHOW" it uses the Artist Slideshow add-on (which doesn't seem to be working in the window).

@Ambidex @RB0135 I wonder if the issues you are experiencing are specific to the specific Layout you are using. I use Layout 7 and don't experience any of the issue you describe. I use Slideshow and have Show Lyrics off and have Extra Fanart selected. I listen to music daily and have experienced no issues with left/right/up/down functionality or the artist images. I have also occasionally used Layout 6 and have not experienced any issue with that layout either.
Within the Artist Slideshow add-on I do have "Use Fallback Slideshow" enabled so that when it does not find any artist images it rotates thru the images I have stored in that directory I point it to. Although honestly that happens very rarely as it does go out and search for images if it does not find any locally.
Update - to answer my own question, I have tried Layout 2 and can't reproduce the errors either so apparently it's not specific to Layout 2 but something else.
BTW, I am running on 2 different Nvidia Shields (both 2017 non-pro versions).

One more note, I only ever use this full screen. Do you have these issues full screen? Perhaps I missed that part of your description of the problem.

Thank you for this info, This module wasn't installed with the skin that i can see. Should I reinstall? or is there a place where i can go to get the script module?

*update* ok I found the module on Latts repo and installed it from zip....But i cannot find where to get to it to configure it...i swear i have looked everywhere and it says that it's installed via banner that comes up when you install a zip file...but i do not see it listed anywhere at all
