I'm still not able to transition from the end of one episode to starting the next. I did not receive an error prompt this time. The static transition shows for a brief moment then playback stops.

The errors indicate an issue with IPTV simple's configuration. When you setup IPTV there is only a handful of settings you need to concern yourself with.
1: Set the paths for M3U/XMLTV/Genre
2: Set M3U to refresh/update, 10mins is recommend.
3: Set your logo preferences, from m3u is recommend.
Most important after making changes, Navigate to Kodi settings "PVR & LiveTV" and clear guidedata and channel data.
Pushing update to fix the error prompt not working...
I appreciate the back and forth trying to clear this up. I'm almost certain I have the IPTV Simple setting set up correctly based on your post. I am also attempting to clear guide and channel data by following your instructions. No change on behavior. I have included screen shots of the guide and channel data clearing options I am selecting to confirm I am clearing appropriately. Additionally I have included another log following a clear > playback > transition fail. If I'm interpreting your directions incorrectly please let me know. I'll continue to test changes as long as you are willing to help

I've tried my best to replicate your issue and I can not... I'm unsure of the cause. For whatever reason the meta between Kodi and the PVR are not in sync. Usually when this happens clearing cache and restarting Kodi to let the PVR rebuild solves it.
Pushing v.0.4.0e in a few minutes... maybe this will resolve your issues?
I'll give E a go once it's made available. When testing with D I was presented with the out of sync modal and let it do its thing. The channel loaded, played the show, then failed to transition with a playback failed modal. Clicking on the same channel, I was presented with the modal again. I'm at work now so I cannot provide logs, but I figured I would share the experience.

I've tried to duplicate the transition issue and could not. I'll add more prints to the code to try and catch where the issue is... I appreciate the help debugging.

i've tried to get this going on my shield/firestick but whenever i start it up it just stays on "pvr manager is starting up" at 0%
tried a fresh install my windows 10 machine, same thing
all 20.1 nexus with the method 2 pseudotv live repo (

I added a test channel and let the addon add some autotune channels, same result. Doesn't appear to be doing anything, unless i'm being incredibly impatient.
One other thing I notice is i get a notification saying "iptv simple client connection lost".

i think i got it working, so that "migrated addon" config that seems to be installed by default, we have to update in the general tab and epg tab, remote path to local path, and point to that userdata folder(.m3u and .xml files respectively)...
any thoughts on how i can accomplish this on shield tv as it doesn't seem i can even see those folders in the browser (show hidden files and folders enabled, permission allowed in shield settings) =\
it also seems whenever i go and click on a program in kodi's tv epg, it tells me "iptv client appears out of sync, do you want to force reload", i do, and it reloads, but then i get that popup again and again

Log shows you don't have guide data, you need to setup the epg path in-order to use.
