In tvheadend you need to manually set the epg source for each channel. It is unlikely that the channel name provided by the ota scan matches the channel name in the zapxml guide data - so automatically map epg source doesn't work. Tvh should do a little more improvement to the matching feature of that function - but for now...just manually set those and your data should load.
Appreciate the fast feedback. I'll go back and do that. Fairly certain I'd done that originally (don't remember any EPG auto mapping option when I first set the system up). Maybe one of the crashes (or a recent tvheadend update, if there was one Sad is the source of all this. Who knows.?

Just as an update...did another tvheadend restart a few moments ago (no changes to settings or anything else) and same results as above...incomplete tvguide.xml file. I'm fairly certain that's why there's no guide info in OSMC. I'll make your suggested changes and see if that puts things back to "normal".

Thanks and cheers....

UPDATE 2:

Got back my guide info. Funny thing is that my timers came back, as well (must be tied to the guide info). So, looks like I'm back to form. Of course, I'll be keeping an eye on it for the next week or so.

Thx again...cheers....

UPDATE:

Think I've solved it...and it seems like deja vu all over again Sad

Went back in and discovered that the EPG sources had been changed. For each available channel there appear to be 2 possible EPG source options. One is an EPG source with no specified source. The other specifies tv_grab_zap2xml as the EPG source. Either thru the most recent OSMC (and tvheadend?) update or the crash a week or 2 back, it would seem my EPG sources were changed to the non-specific.

The reason this is deja vu is that I remember dealing with this when I was trying to get my system up and running the first time. Similar problem, same solution.

I have some more testing to do (like verify that I now have guide info again), but I did check my tvguide.xml file and it looks as if it has all the proper xml codes.

I'll let you know the final results.

Thanks again for the support.

One other question...Iirc, I had channel icons before this mess happened (maybe I didn't and am just dreaming it Smile where's the best place to grab those? I know there's a box to check in zap2xml for downloading channel icons when the updates happen...is that the best way, or is there another?

Thx....
zap2xml is not the best way as those icons are really small.

If you're looking for US based logos (networks) you can download this pack: https://ati711.deviantart.com/art/TV-Cha...-258698062

It's nice because you can choose to use the color, black or white icons. I like using the white ones in the estuary skin. :-)
Thanks. I'll download and check them out. I'm using the Confluence UI.

Another update....I discovered that if I try to do something else on the RPI 3/OSMC system while it's downloading program guide info, the process gets glitched. Can't tell if it's a network conflict (using my Win 10 system to access it either thru SSH or Windows Explorer equivalent network access) or some odd problem with the RPI multi-tasking (which shouldn't be a problem for Debian/Linux) or maybe some combination of the 2. I had the chance to do another download today and not only was everything good, but I got 14 days with xtra details which is how I had it set up before (makes the tvguide.xml file ~20MB). See how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

Again, appreciate the help...cheers....

Can I ask a different question - why did you choose to run OSMC over LibreELEC?
At the time forums were talking about OSMC being the better/robust (and more "modern") HTPC OS. Fresher and more up-to-date than some of the others. Iirc, the support was also considered pretty good (altho, that's changed for me in the past month or so...requiring logs for any questions I've asked...which may not be an altogether bad thing. Just frustrating for me and less friendly). The 1 thing that sold me on OSMC was a more complete and accessible underlying OS (Debian) for better flexibility (and potential mess ups Sad with addons, DIY, customization, etc.

1 of the articles I read that helped me decide -

https://www.htpcbeginner.com/openelec-vs...pberry-pi/

The article is ~2 yrs. old and, it focuses on OpenELEC, which is the "parent" of LibreELEC. Not sure how much of the comparison is still valid, tho.

Why do you ask?

I was going to ask about why I only saw the "default" channel icon but checked this morning and most of the icons are now displayed. So my question now is...the icons I see (which I assume are downloaded from zap2it) have resolution issues (fuzzy around the edges). Any idea how to sharpen them up? Or should I just go with the icons I downloaded from your link and that will solve this issue? Thx.

Cheers....

unfortunately the zap2it website only uses small res logos - so they will always be fuzzy. I would switch to the pack I posted before. Or - if you want a special set of icons for your system (local ota channel icons) - use the 7 day trial of scheudles direct to setup/download your logos then just save those somewhere before your trial expires. Scheudles direct uses high res local logos which is nice.

If you don't have that long of a list of channels - I could pull them for you. :-)
wrt to the logos I downloaded from your link...do I need to set the channel icons manually for each channel, or is there a place I can stuff the logos and use a "general" path setting so that TVHeadEnd finds them automatically?

Appreciate the offer on the logos...I'm fairly certain I should be able to get them...just in case, tho, I'll table your offer if I can't Smile

Cheers....

In the TVH web interface you can set the icon location under the CONFIGURATION > GENERAL tab.

Scroll down to the Channel icon path: part and set the location there

make sure to keep the %C.png at the end

Then change the Channel icon name scheme: to No Scheme

Finally - make you will have to edit the names of the icons to match the channel name - so for example in my case KUSI-HD would be KUSI-HD.png

Be aware that some of the OTA channel names may have strange spaces after the name if the engineer messed up the programming of the transmitter. I find that just copying the name form the channel name field in tvh and pasting it to the icon name will fix that issue.

Let me know if that was confusing or if you get stuck.
Hello, again. I have a problem where my grabber modules are not collecting any data. I am running John Galt's test version 9.0.0-testing7 (https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/8781-t...iscussion/) and I am able to install your Schedule Direct modules and your Zap2it modules, but they will not collect any data. The modules show up and I can enble them, but they will not collect any guide data. I have rebooted the LibreELEC box several times, but does not help.

When I select a channel and edit it, there is no selection under the EPG source.

Using the same device (Beelink MiniMX3), with the standard LibreELEC, your SD2xmltv file works great, I am just testing John Galt's version, using a different microSD card.

Here is what the log shows.

Can you post the zap2xml.log and sd4tvh.log if they are there?

Since John Galt's seems to be developed off of a nougat kernel - can you also make sure that the tv_grab_zap2xml and the tv_grab_sd4tvh files are executable?

Here is the log file, but not sure how to verify that the modules are executable.

Appreciate it. Most of the guideline make sense. The 1 part I'm unsure of is setting the icon path in CONFIGURATION/GENERAL. That means I would be setting a path for access to all icons...but putting a "%C.png" at the end sounds like setting it for a specific one. Is that correct (CONFIGURATION/CHANNEL/EPG allows setting the icons for each enabled channel)? Then your "Finally - ...you will have to edit the names of the icons to match the channel names...." sounds like using the CONFIGURATION/GENERAL as the path setting and that TVHeadEnd/OSMC will understand that...

Or am I getting off track here Sad

Thx and cheers....

(2017-09-03, 00:23)edit4ever Wrote: [ -> ]In the TVH web interface you can set the icon location under the CONFIGURATION > GENERAL tab.
