I just tried RTE One in both the RTE and AerTV parts of the plugin and I have no sync problems. If this is something you are both just seeing today and it has since corrected itself then it's presumably not a problem in the plugin. Did either of you check the same channels in a browser to see if it was any different at the time?

Also note for future reference: When I read your posts I had no idea which section of the plugin, or which channel or channels you were talking about. I assume that by checking RTE One in RTE and AerTV that I have it covered.

@samburrows - Is there a particular section (e.g. RTE, TV3) for which this happens? How much out of sync do you think it is? Do you have any such problem with other plugins, e.g. iPlayer, Youtube?

This rtmpdump command is working for me right now, with the latest version of RTMPDump v2.4 -

Code:
rtmpdump -r "rtmp://brightcove.fcod.llnwd.net:1935/a500/e1/uds/rtmp/ondemand/" -a "a500/e1/uds/rtmp/ondemand?videoId=1339491761001&lineUpId=&pubId=1290862567001&playerId=1364138050001&affiliateId=" --swfUrl "http://admin.brightcove.com/viewer/us20130319.1040/federatedVideoUI/BrightcovePlayer.swf" -p "http://www.tg4.ie" -C B:0 -C S:"mp4:1290862567001/1290862567001_1339522324001_WCL002916-15-4-1339527595001.mp4&1364418000000&3ef7b1da33f0d8fd3b14254092a07817" -y "mp4:1290862567001/1290862567001_1339522324001_WCL002916-15-4-1339527595001.mp4" -o 1290862567001_1339522324001_WCL002916-15-4-1339527595001.3.flv

Note the addition of a500/e1/uds/rtmp/ in the main url and the app parameter. There are also two -C parameters. I expect that details in the end part of the second -C parameter (after 001.mp4) can be found somewhere in the AmfResponse.

Update: The stock version of RTMPDump/librtmp v2.4 will not work with the above command. If you have not specifically taken steps to get a more recent version of RTMPDump/librtmp v2.4 then you'll probably need to do so. This may mean downloading and compiling the source, see HOW-TO:Update_librtmp. Note that v2.4 was released in 2011 and they have not updated the version number since, but they make updates/fixes etc to the source code.

The only other programme that I've found to have this problem is "Entertainment | Imeall (Feb 2012)". The programme above is from 2011. This problem may only affect older programmes. Are you aware of any others? If it's just these two then it's not worth fixing, IMO.

Mossy, many thanks for the reply.

I discovered only the one such programme during my random testing so, as you say, probably not worth fixing.

But I'll give the command a go anyway and post my findings. I compiled rtmpdump a couple of weeks ago so should have a fairly recent version.

Hi Mossy

Sorry for lack of specifics. This has always happened to me in the AerTV section of the plugin, tested on both PC and Raspberry Pi. It's a good 3-4 seconds out I would estimate, but absolutely flawless after the pause / wait / play solution.

I don't see this problem on SmoothStreams, IceFilms or iPlayer plugins.
Thanks for the feedback Sam - is AerTV in sync in a web browser?

I'm afraid it works fine in a browser....
Has anyone got mossy add-on to work with Frodo 12.1 on Pivos? Have tried a few external players but nothing yet.
Mossy I've installed this addon on a W7 laptop and a Acer Revo running OpenElec. I can't figure out how to download something on either though! I'm posting a log from XBMC for Windows running on my laptop as I'm a lot more comfortable troubleshooting that:

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=9022

I keep getting a "download failed" error and I'm fairly sure I have the correct path to rtmpdump. I'm probably making an elementary error somewhere and would be grateful if you could help me please! Thanks.
@Mossy
The audio issue first appeared in 2.99.2 in openelec rpi and is a player issue. I have brought up the issue time and time again on another thread and logs do not contain the proper information
Hi Mossy

There has always been sync problems but closing the stream down and reopening worked for me but over the last few weeks it hasn't worked and the audio has shifted to about 30 secs ahead of picture. Tried pausing but that results in stream not responding.

I'm using the RTE live area. Can't test AerTV as I'm not in the 26, and can't test RTE web for same reason.

I see you're having the same problem with ITV player. Smells like a RTMPDump/librtmp problem on your device.

If you want to try an up-to-date version of librtmp there are links in the wiki. Also a debug log may shed some light on the situation.
Hey Mossy Ive started getting Root menu error on your addon using AerTV, it's been fine until recently. Log below from starting the addon. RTE plays fine.

Thanks for the bug report. Fixed in 2.0.10 available now from my repository and downloads page (see first post), available in a few days time from the official repository.
Hi Mossy, finally got the bug reports working, would love if you could tell me whats going on, RTE Player and TV3 Player dont work no matter how many times I reinstall the add on, AerTV is the only thing working:

Much appreciated thanks.
Code:
ERROR: RTMP_Connect1, handshake failed.

This also happening for some other players on Android. Looks like a librtmp problem in XBMC on Android.

The wiki has some links relating to updating librtmp, and one link in particular about getting a recent version of librtmp for Android.
Swapping out librtmp for the one linked in the wiki fixed the RTE Player in android, actually I think it improved it, I watched a few things on it today at work without a single crash or even a stutter, thanks a million. Sadly no change in TV3 Player, will make these my last debug logs because I really dont care about TV3 apart from Vincent Browne so if you have any suggestions Ill try them then give up, cheers for all the help Mossy, great assistance.
