The Trac ticket points to the changelog of pvr-testing -> pvr-testing2. The difference between unified-pvr and pvr-testing is that the unified-pvr branch is the first to support the new addon architecture, whereas pvr-testing's goal is to have a working TV frontend.

However, given pvr-testing's progress, I assume that is what's going to make it into the trunk since it uses the addon architecture as well.

When I prefer to be most up-to-date (i.e. confluence skin updates) with my xbmc pvr setup, what branche can I use best?
Because of encrypted channels (canaldigitaal NL) I really need to use a camserver/client setup to watch TV. Currently I use cccam, server is a dreambox 7020 with cccam, and I've installed cccam as client on ubuntu.
I now use:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/henningpingel/xbmc/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/henningpingel/xbmc/ubuntu karmic main

Thnx!
could any one set it up and make iso file for download Huh
with working xbmc pvr to watch tv from dreambox cccam serwer Huh?
if any one would help would be wow couse i love xbmc its awsome but dont know much about linux if any one

best regards

this is not an option in my opinion, better take a look at a liveCD for mythtv http://www.mythdora.com/?q=download
or liveCD for XBMC http://xbmc.org/download/
firstly excellent guide, easy to install Smile and working on Ubuntu 9.10 64bit.

The only problem im having is lack of channels, using a HVR-1200 im only get 12 from freeview.

On the hvr-1200 wiki they mention scanning with and offset of +166Hz +167hz, but can't seem to figure out how todo this.

If I do a scan with Kaffine set to all frequencies then it works fine and it finds everything, but you can't export easily from it?

Any suggestions?

Where are you located?

what software are you using to scan?
Southwest UK (Caradon Hill), and ive tried dvbscan and wscan with various settings, no luck Sad

Its just a shame you can't export over from Kaffine.

Strange! Could you try these:

Code:
w_scan -ft -c GB -o7 >> channels.conf

Code:
scan -o vdr -u /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/uk-CaradonHill > channels.conf

you should get good results from one of them. I haven't used Kaffine however if the above don't work i will have a look to see if i can help you any further.

you may need to install dvb-apps for scan to work:

Code:
sudo apt-get install dvb-apps
thank you for the help Wink

Done as suggest below with no improvement.

scan brings back a total of 12 channels/radio stations, however with w-scan nothing at all.

I was wondering whether I could manually edit the uk-CaradonHill to include +166 and +167hz frequency.

There is no harm in trying to edit the dvb-apps file.

Do you have good signal?
yes good signal, everything seems to check out fine. In Windows MCE I have no problems scanning, and Linux/Kaffine again no problems when its set to all frequencies within the program Smile
okay after adjusting my Caradonhill file im now getting 62 services! im still missing a good few including the BBC, but progress none the less. Unsure what todo next to try and improve the number of channels.

Hi

uk-CaradonHill file has not been updated following the digital switchover that took place in the south west of England on 9th September 2009. Changes that occurred included new transmitter frequencies and all multiplexes now using QAM64. (Previously BBC used QAM16, hence your loss of those channels).

Here is an updated uk-CharadonHill file that (should) work.

Code:
T 474167000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux SDN
T 482167000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux BBCB
T 497833000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux ArqA
T 506167000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux D3+4
T 521833000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux ArqB
T 530167000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux BBCA
T 546000000 8MHz 2/3 NONE QAM64 2k 1/32 NONE #Mux NEW7
