I really like how this all works out, overall it leaves a great imression.
But i still have a couple of issues:

1) vdr seems to completely ignore my channels.conf. I tried setting UpdateChannels = 0 in /etc/vdr/setup.conf and deleting MyTV1.db in .xbmc/userdata/Database/

2) I usually have to try twice to select a channel. On the first try i only get "Could not select channel". I i then try again, it works.

any ideas?
Thank you very much riban! just hope those dvb files get updated sooner rather than later as im sure plenty of others are having similar problems.

Best Regards,
Hello all,
i have been following this thread and am using xbmc and vdr and i have to say i am pretty impressed.
i also am having a couple of problems that i cant seem to find answers for (i have exausted google Shocked)

1. i have run w_scan -ft -c GB -o7 >> channels.conf and i have what looks like a fully populated file (39 TV and 26 Radio) but in xbmc live tv bbc news, bbc one and bbc two show "no information available", the channels do seem to work sometimes if i click on them and other times not, xbmc will either stop responding or crash out.

2. vdr is randomly recording programs :confused2:
everytime i start up xbmc, vdr starts to record bbc news or bbc one or bbc two no apparent reason, i have removed all timers, tried to make the timers file read only but to no avail.

does anyone have any advice to offer ?

thanks in advance

DC

well .. i was poking around and found a channels.conf.terr in /var/lib/vdr .. in this file was a listing for UK Crystal Palace, i linked this to /etc/vdr/channels.conf and left it for a while and now it looks like its picked up the BBC channels!

i wonder if this will now stop the phantom recordings :confused2:
With todays build I pressed record on the menu, now my VDR/XBMC keeps recording. I've restarted the system 3 times and it still records. Is their some keyboard functions to press to make it stop. The only way is if I stop the service in terminal ?

this is exactly my issue. Shocked
if i leave it it will fill up my hdd with random recordings, is there a log anywhere that i can look at or post for help ?
i have looked in the usual places but dont see any thing that looks like it might point to the problem.
Hi

Is VDPAU support disabled on latest version (pvr-testing-20~hepi-karmic27127) from this PPA ?
I've tried to play several (MPEG4) files with VDPAU rendering method enabled (hopping that http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=66646&page=3 is closed) but it just uses ffmpeg4 (software) decoder.

Huh

Hi iam trying to install this version.
But i get 'E: Couldnt find packgae Aeon stark'

I previosly had a svn version of xbmc
hi guys,
I'm trying to setup an htpc but first i'm testing the instalation on vmware fusion.
The system i'm using is "Ubuntu Karmic Mini", and i did everything as the first post says
but xbmc isn't starting, when i launch it i get an black screen...
then a small terminal at the top-left side of the screen

with some alsa messages
and this error "X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameters atributtes)"

what should i do ?

another question: is there any pvr-testing version to osx ?
diego-ch Wrote:and this error "X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameters atributtes)"
Probably related to ticket #6382. I have written a patch that likely fixes it: xbmc-glxvisuals.patch @ #8661.
fixed that issue... xbmc now starts!

but now when i click on the channel so i can watch it, it says "channel cannot be played"

i've tested today with tvheadend and the channel is working fine...
but not working with vdr....

any thoughts what this might be?
Would it be possible to add the HDHomeRun plug-in to the VDR repos?
