(2020-05-12, 18:36)Tobby Wrote: [ -> ]I don't understand. My TMDB scraper says it's on 5.1.11. And also, what about Universal Movie Scraper? Or is it dependant on the TMDB scraper?

I tried refreshing both a movie (UMS) and a TV series (TMDB) and both returned a backdrop in English.

metadata.common.themoviedb.org is a common scraper library. Both tmdb and UMS are using it, so both should be resolved with this update.
Scraper libraries are dependencies. Look at system/settings/add-ons/manage dependencies for the version. If it's still 3.1.10, then force update.

I see. It is indeed 3.1.11 and now it works. Only for movies though. For TV series it still loads in a backdrop with a logo. Parks and Recreation is one example I've been able to find. But perhaps that uses another dependency?
That's a completely different scraper.
edit: ...and now this issue is also handled in tmdb tv scraper version 3.5.3.

That's great. Thanks for all your hard work. The Kodi repo on my machine still says 3.5.2 is the latest version, but I guess it takes some time.

Question: Will the language tagged backdrops be saved as landscape art? Or is there another way to import them? Other than manually downloading them of course.
You can force update using the side blade menu from within add-ons and hit check for updates.

Scraping those images as landscape is a bigger work. Which skin are you using what supports landscape?
By the way - not saying I won't add this, but I believe landscape art gets downloaded from fanart.tv, no?

Found it. And it works great. I tried searching for updates within the add-on info, but apparently that wasn't the way to do it. Thank for another tip.

I'm using Aura. It supports landscape images in several views, but most importantly for me in the home screen widget sections.
And yes, they are indeed downloaded from Fanart.tv, but TMDBs are higher res and way more user friendly for contributors in my opinon. Also Fanart lacks some artwork for some movies that TMDB has. And obviously that works the other way around aswell.

I added this at UMS v5.4.0 - check settings: you will need to enable landscape scraping from tmdb (disabled by default).

Wow, that was fast. Thank you.

I haven't been able to get them to download automatically when refreshing movie info for some reason, however I'm able to choose them manually under the movie info page after refreshing. Only the English ones though. The swedish ones, my native language, doesn't appear in the list.

It's linked to the poster language. If English is selected for poster language, the Swedish will not appear here either.

I also experienced this behavior during my tests, however @Karellen said landscape images popped up automatically for him. So not sure what it is, but for sure it's not a scraper issue. It is not the scraper what is selecting and assigning the images, but Kodi core.

Actually Swedish is my preffered language for posters with English as fallback, so it's weird that the swedish ones didn't appear.

Hmm, that's odd. Wonder what Karellen's done that we've missed.

Which movie?

Nothing special.
Installed the update, enabled the landscape setting at the Source level, scraped Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and Captain America Civil War (2016) and checked the display in Aura skin. Landscape images were displayed.

Setting is indeed enabled on source level, but none of the landscape images has been downloaded automatically.
I tried your three movies and landscape images were not found. The API is returning the images but the scraper is not picking it up by the looks of it...

Oops, just read the thread title and you are using UMS. I tested with TheMovieDB scraper which gave the same result.

So it seems it ignores the images based on their tag, right? The language tag should be their only common denominator.
