I don't know what else to try now. Windows 10 automatic updates are a real nightmare to manage.

Congratulations, someone else who is frustrated by Windows 10 Automatic Updates. I finally got fed up with these updates about a week went through the convoluted process and turned off automatic updates and checking.
What process is that?

Huh, care to elaborate? Its completely better than the first retail build. I am speaking from a technicians standpoint, it is superior and has SIGNIFICANTLY lest errors. Not trying to start a fight or anything, but if you elaborate on your reasoning, maybe we can help you instead of you going on a windows hate rant.

I am really not very competent with Windows (I mainly use a MacPro), but I did a search for "How To Turn Off Windows Update In Windows 10" found a website that explained how to do it ( https://mspoweruser.com/turn-off-windows...indows-10/ ), and following their directions it seems to have worked.

Good luck.
Mine always stutters no matter what I've tried Maybe I'll try the new build and try some logging. I've been using madvr with lav with flawless results. it wouldn't suprise me if windows 10 was messing something up although I haven't had an issue with playback with madvr. However the encoding of 3d gets major messed up every 2 weeks or so making me uninstall and reinstall the hd530 graphics drivers which I can only chase down to windows updates.

(2016-11-16, 16:37)MrBfJohn Wrote: [ -> ]I've been having an issue since installing the November updates. I get terrible stuttering when trying to watch a 3D movie. I have watched all these movies before, and can still watch them fine on my other 2 machines. 2D movies also play fine. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the October 28th release which I had working very well, but for some reason the problem persists. I have also noticed that the November release added an event log option in the main menu, which the older October installation now also has, which tells me something isn't quite being fully uninstalled. I did tick the box to uninstall all the profile and library data, so I thought that would wipe everything.
The machine is a 2820 Intel NUC, playing from a NAS if that helps.

Debug Log

There are an awful lot of these, which might point to the issue?
Code:
14:19:13 T:3896 WARNING: CMFXCodec::Decode: Decoder did not respond within possible time, resetting decoder.
14:19:13 T:3896   DEBUG: CVideoPlayerVideo::CalcDropRequirement - hurry: 1
14:19:15 T:3896   DEBUG: Previous line repeats 21 times.

Cheers for any help

John
I don't think that really works, I've tried a number of things and mine still seems to keep updating

try blocking the update URL's at your router. google for it - windows should not be able to get around that unless they are doing something very sneaky

now windows itself may start constantly pinging those domains and that could impact your performance but worth a shot.

there is also the metered approach which out of the box supports wifi only. there is a registry trick to enable metered on ethernet. basically it tells windows you are on a connection that costs you cash the more you use it and so they let you opt out of updates this way
Hey there,

I have one in use right now, although about to be replaced when I set up my just received Kaby Lake Beebox. The couple of 3D MVC MKVs that I've watched, I've had no issue with it.

On my initial test of the November 17th build the Buffering Loop when skipping around in a 3D .MKV file has been fixed. In fact the buffering indicator has changed and the audio stays in sync.

I still have intermittent problems with slow halting picture without sound when resuming a 3D .MKV file with Dolby Atmos soundtracks - all other 3D .MKV files resume and play fine. But now I can fast forward, reverse, or chapter skip (with functioning buffering) to resume the 3D Movie with correct sound (problem present since the September 22nd build). I have not tried 3D .ISO files yet. But the problem with playback of Dolby Atmos containing Movies occurred very rarely with 3D .ISO files, mainly just with 3D .MKV files.
First impressions for me on the NUC 2820 are good. The image stuttering and out of sync audio are all fixed it would seem.
Thanks Afedchin.
when you play a bluray iso, since there is no full menu support (BD-J) do you just get a list of titles to select to playback?
Latest Build working fine with 5gen intel nuc. I had some major issues on a driver version that was not detecting in the build as far as hardware decoding. Not sure which one it was It said latest already installed. Rolled back to 39xx i think and its back working just fine. These things happen with windows, I wonder if i really "need" a zidoo x9s, or i can just hold out some more till next year and see what surfaces. I have invested quite a bit in 4k home theater this year.
