Geessss johnsto your a legend!!!!! cant wait!
johnsto Wrote:Well, here are the things I need to do:
- rewrite the iplayer.py library (no more screen-scraping!)
- strip down the XBMC script (remove all the 'download programme' stuff)
- rewire the two together again.
Maybe make it into a plugin instead of a script as well?

Huh
johnsto, I think I love you. This is one of my top requests for xbmc.

Massive thank you for all your effort!!
You should be thanking the people behind RTMP support, not me!

I plan to do that as well, but the first version is likely to use the previous GUI.

Ideally I'd:
a) Have a plugin version
b) Have a richer script, which shows proper details and images for each programme.

For now though, I just need to make it work well enough, and that's what I'll do at the weekend.

Cool! So similar to AMT (Apple Movie Trailers) which is available both as a script and as a plugin

Cool
Ok you lot, I've mashed together a quick plugin. Horrifically ugly, but it lets you get the most popular programmes for each channel.

Apparently RTMP support isn't in the T3CH builds yet, so this won't work on the XBOX. However, it will work on XBMC-Linux.

Download it here: http://xbmc-iplayer.googlecode.com/files...plugin.zip

...and extract to /xbmc/plugins/iplayer and you should know the rest.
thanks looking good I just tried it on the windows build but it didn't retrieve any programmes. duse any one know if window has working RTMP? I can compile myself if its been added recently.

If you can attach your debug log, that'll help work out why the plugin didn't work. This sounds like a script issue rather than an RTMP one.

I'm was using rev13859 what I was wondering was, had RTMP been included in this build or should I use More resent revision?
Appears something's up with the thumbnail downloading/saving bit.

Could you try this new build: http://xbmc-iplayer.googlecode.com/svn/t...plugin.zip (note different URL)

If it helps, I'm using revision r13999 on Linux.
works like a charm on rev13859 the last window build released Big Grin

now to try on the xbox build I just done first time building for xbox. So I'm a bit nerves but I cant wait to use this plug-in, thanks again for all the hard work
Thanks for all your hard work!!
Smile
I guess the next question is.... how long till there's a tech release with the RTMP support built in?

That besides, this is a brilliant development and my heartfelt thanks go out to all involved in developing this, from those who worked so hard getting RTMP into XBMC through to everyone involved in beebhack and the members of this forum (u know who u r) who are making this possible.. I won't be the last person to say it, but I wanted to be one of the first!

NICE WORK GUYS!!!!! Nod
looking forward to trying this, many thanks rmtp devs and johnsto. I read over at xbox-scene that latest t3ch build (30/6) has rmtp in it. Anyone tried this on xbox with that build?
Yep. It doesn`t work.
