Your TV only supports HDR10 and HLG not Dolby Vision.

Code:
HDR (HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE) COMPATIBILITY
Yes(HDR10, HLG)
its not all bad though, my tv doesnt have it either so it makes a great acid trip effect

AFAIK, DV support was added later in some update. But clearly they did not change it on a spec page.
Well in that case a debug log will tell us for sure whether it's supported.

i really think its the tv itself since i found an identical issue on the same os on the exact tv ^
Is there a way to upgrade the 19.4 kodi maven build to 20 or is starting from scratch with a  new instance the only way?
kodi package name is org.xbmc.kodi mavens are net.kodinerds.maven.kodi so its not even recognized by android as the same package so installing it would not overwrite or upgrade net.kodinerds.maven.kodi
you could load the official kodi and see if the userdata will transfer but i wouldnt be able to tell you this will work
I have just installed the official Kodi 20 build on my Shield TV Pro. In the settings it says my device is Dolby Vision compatible, however files that previously played in Dolby Vision on this build (the build this thread is for) are now only playing in HDR.

Is it only a certain version of Dolby Vision files that are recognised by the official build? For example .mp4?

I have installed the 'Ariel' screensaver that plays Apple TV videos and some of those are playing as Dolby Vision.

Only nightly builds contain DV for MKV's.

I am still getting audio stuttering with latest Kodi 21 nightly on 4k Dolby Atmos mkvs on my Shield 10 Pro.
All settings are set as recommended in the first post.  Confused
