@Hitcher Is there any way to disable the overlay when you enable logging? I have sporadic frame skips / stutter that don't show up as skips/drops/sync issues in the Kodi process info when watching DV with the latest release. I don't want the permanent logging overlay since I have an OLED.

Yes, put this in your advancedsettings.xml:

Code:
<advancedsettings>
  <loglevel>1</loglevel>
</advancedsettings>
What dv profile do i get when playing uhd iso with this build on Nvidia shield ?
You should be able to play both profile 8.1 and 5. Profile 7 is converted on-the-fly to, basically, 8.1 (FEL & MEL are ignored and just RPU provides dynamic info.)
…the build on the first page is that still work if you want working menus? Also is there a shortcut button to the menus from the movie? (Basically a menu button with the shield remote?
There’s a lot here and kinda got lost. Basically I’m having issues playback 4k menus only. On my Xbox setting render method to dxva fixed it with turning off hardware acceleration however that doesn’t exist on the shield pro. Is there an equilivant player I can download or add on..? I found a dxva for android but it’s not on shield. so close yet so far.
Blu-ray & UHD menus don't work on Kodi for Android with the official packages as we don't include any java runtime in the builds. To get menus you'll need to run an unoffical version such as https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=360250
Did you ever find a solution for this? This also happens to me, even though the same MKV plays normally over SMB with another version of Kodi. (Without Dolby Vision, of course.)
Sorry I forgot to quote the original post. The problem is that the DV/MKV video lags and hangs over the SMB. When played directly from an USB drive connected to Shield everything works fine. Also, if the same file is played over SMB with a different version of Kodi it plays just fine. (Not in DV obviously.)
