Nice. Looking forward to trying it out.

I used the mythbuntu 0.28 ppa and installed

0.28.0~master.20140803.b3e1e21-0ubuntu0mythbuntu1

Do you know is comskip works with this addon and 0.28?

comskip for "constant frame rate" stream (MPEG-TS) will be ready soon. For instance I am testing a solution without backend helper. I let you know.

Very cool.
@teeedubb @ChrisMyhre

i pushed the update to handle commercial skip and cut list. It is available for mpeg-ts stream.
Janbar, installed latest version and given it a quick whirl and comskip works. It skipped the pre-roll ads and regular ads. I've switched back to using this version and I'll see what the boss has to say, she uses live TV a lot more than I do.

Thanks!
Janbar I'm getting a 'recorder unavailable' error message and no live tv playback after both the be +fe have been suspended. Xbmc was turned on, backend was woken then I attempted to play livetv (also on the frontend, xbmc restarts on resume). Restarting xbmc after the error allowed livetv to be played.

EDIT: Ive also noticed (with latest plus previous versions) that there are sometimes long pauses (10+ sec) during playback that I dont get with cmyth. First log playback resumed after some time, second log playback froze for over 1min, and didnt restart.

Mythbackend log (should cover all three xbmc log files) for completeness sake: http://paste.ubuntu.com/8001621/

Mythtv 0.27.3+fixes, xbmc 13.2b2, ubuntu 14.04 on both machines.

Yes, i know this situation. In rare case i have same disconnection with error 110 (timeout). The root cause is the backend does not respawn in time (10 secondes) because it could be overloaded by others task or bug. The old addon cmyth have the same issue but you didn't see it Wink because it retries one time all timeouted calls. Also the timeout was fixed to 20 secondes if i remember.
Anyway, next step i will think about to retry call or at least reconnect the control connection if possible.
Thanks janbar.
Hi all,
Great thread this is.
I've recently built a mythbuntu 14.04 backend and using a windows client running xbmc Gotham working just fine.
Yesterday I installed on my windows client the lastest pvr.mythtv addon (janbar) which seems to run much better than the default mythtv cmyth addon, great.

I've also got a PI running openelec from a noobs installer which works fine but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get the pvr.mythtv onto the PI.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm finding 'git' or 'apt-get' not working from the command line.
Sorry for the newbie question but what's the simplest method to get the pvr.mythtv addon to a current openlec installation?

Regards
FG
Don't quite me on this as I have never used a rpi and I haven't used recent OE builds, but you probably need to rebuild the whole OE image to add the new version of the add-on.
Thanks teeedubb,

I'll have a bit of a read on what's involved to build an image.

Cheers
Hi Janbar,

Do you have any plans to make the tv recording format more like the rest of xbmc?

Edit: reread and that may be unclear.
I am talking about the listings of recorded programs.
eg: I record all sci fi movies. So they go into the same recording group.
But within the group, each movie has its own subfolder
I would love to see an ability to flatten it, so the scifi movie folder just contained the movies with no sub folders.
Can I have some help on installation of this?

I am quite new to all of this.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:jlbarriere68/ppa
then
sudo sudo apt-get update

This seemed to work ok.

But now I dont know the next step.
It does not appear in addons etc.

thanks
Code:
sudo apt-get install xbmc-pvr-mythtv

I think this may be a mythtv thing as opposed to this particular frontend to mythtv.
Thanks Nick, seems obvious when you know.

I know the folders etc are from mythtv, was hoping that the way we display them could be done via interface.
I will keep dreaming.
Try some different skins. I find looking at my recordings via XBMC quite confusing, and I am sure the fact that I chop and change skins regularly doesn't help!
