Sorry...
I am seeing a quick flash of EPG connecting but it is to fast to make out what it says. Also, I don't get a "Live TV" tab on the main screen.
thanks

Looks like this addon doesnt reconnect after a suspend. The old one used to have this issue pre gotham. I just setup my wake on usb/wake from suspend and the first thing i tested was this addon as the old one used to have an issue. This one seems to suffer the same fate.

Tested as so:
suspended it over night
woke up the htpc
my mythtv started a recording while the htpc was suspended and is currently recording, and I cannot find it in the recordings list
restart solves the issue

Cheers!

Fixed in 1.9.24 (2 days ago). Will be delivered during this week hopefully ...

EDIT: I need guy to test it Wink . If you able to get and build it from the sources that's will be great to check the resolution.
I updated the wiki also. But my english is not really perfect (Maybe someone had noticed). So the url is http://kodi.wiki/view/MythTV_PVR and little contribution to fix it will be great. Thanks all

EDIT: I will rework the EIT page later including few samples of files "eit_categories.txt". This is a new feature of the addon to match your myth categories with kodi categories and finally get lot of colors in EPG grid (i explained in this thread few weeks ago).
Janbar

Wicked work Smile It has been fixed

Cheers!
Just installed Kodi nightly on Ubuntu 14.04.1 by adding the xbmc-nightly repo and running sudo apt-get install xbmc pvr.mythtv and there are no PVR addons and I cannot seem to enable PVR service. I have checked and everything seems to be installed as the lastest version.

sudo apt-get install xbmc pvr.mythtv
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting 'xbmc-pvr-mythtv-cmyth' for regex 'pvr.mythtv'
xbmc is already the newest version.
xbmc-pvr-mythtv-cmyth is already the newest version.
0 to upgrade, 0 to newly install, 0 to remove and 1 not to upgrade.

But no live TV in Kodi. If I try to enable Live TV it says I need a backend or PVR addon, and there is no sign of any PVR related menu items or services. I am missing something clearly, I just don't know what.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here. It is a clean install of kodi.

Cheers

Looks like you have the old version of the plugin (cmyth). Have you installed the repository from the first post?

UPDATE

Ok so removed xbmc/kodi purged and then installed repo from 1st post.
Clean install
Install xbmc-pvr-mythtv (seems to install correct 1.9.22-0~492~ubuntu14.04.1 version
Run kodi and try and enable Live TV I get the Unkown error dialog see log.

Code:

So addon version from your repo does not work on clean (no other addons just OOTB) kodi install. The version in the xbmc repos also does not work.
Any advice on what the issue is? Any further info you require for debugging purposes as the above is the only PVR data created in the log with debugging enabled.

Hi, you try load the addon provided for XBMC Gotham with KODI Helix.
If you want to try KODI then you have to uninstall the addon from the janbar ppa which is only for Gotham.
Then you will have to compile it from sources or install it from the official ppa for KODI.

EDIT: i don't know where you could find the KODI addon compiled for ubuntu. Now if you cannot compile it from sources then prefer using XBMC Gotham with addon provided from janbar ppa.
Also you will find all you need to compile it from the kodi wiki http://kodi.wiki/view/PVR/Backend/MythTV...FromSource

Wow, confused you will be! So the advie to use the repo in the 1st post was a red herring. The version in the Kodi Helix repos (xbmc-nightly) is an older verion and does not work with the nightly install it looks like the pvr.mythtv addon is not being brought forward when the nightly is being compiled.

I tried the instructions in the wiki to compile for Kodi but got permission denied errors and cross compiling errors so abandoned that rabbit hole!

I will just have to wait for the Kodi Helix repos to catch-up with a version that works on Helix. Thanks for the reply.

Alpha testing is a fast moving experiment.
I've been using the new version for a while now on a Linux platform and noticed a LiveTV quirk and before that I was using the older cmyth version without issues. I currently use the following setup:
  • mythtv 0.28 master
  • Ubuntu 14.04 (backend & XBMC frontend)
  • 2X HDHomeRun Prime
  • Everything gigabit connected
  • mythtv storage is 2 1TB in Raid 0

When I watch LiveTV on any of the XBMC nodes I notice that I get pixelation of video/audio every so often that I never experienced with the cmyth version of the plugin. This doesn't happen when mythtv does recordings or I watch recordings using XBMC. I also know that if I am doing multiple recordings and watching, basically taxing the system to the nines I don't see any issues with recordings but only on LiveTV.

I've done 6 recordings at once and watched two recordings on my two XBMC nodes at the same time without zero video/audio issues as I do with LiveTV.

Any thoughts or data needed?

Try setting Enable demuxing MPEG-TS in Advanced tab of mythtv pvr addons.
