Yes, it is no problem to watch recordings from that analog card. It is just not possible to watch Live TV from it.

You have to disable internal demuxer. In general Analog card provide MPEG-PS stream , not MPEG_TS. The internal demuxer handles only TS streams.

New versions of addon are available from janbar PPA.

Great. I can watch LiveTV now. However, I do notice that the quality of the picture from this analog card is worse in Kodi than in Mythfrontend (but still acceptable).

Well for a start mythfrontend is a highly specialised tv player as opposed to a generalised media player. But before you get too disheartened, are you deinterlacing?

Great again! Well, I was not deinterlacing. And now that I do, the picture has improved a lot Any suggesting on which one is typically the best interlacing method?
Rather hardware dependent I think.
@janbar

A number of people, including myself, are having crash problems - segmentation faults using pvr.mythtv on Raspberry pi 2 (the new unit with quad core cpu armv7, and 1 Gbyte ram).

Most people are using Openelec 15 builds (Milhouse), I have also tried OSMC Alpha4 build (was raspbmc) and the official OE 5.0.1 build - all crash.

The main thread for this is http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=217563

Can you have a look a the crash logs to see if there is anything obvious to you.

Thanks
Mike
Hi all,

I have some problem with your plugin.
I got some JSON parsing problem when in the channel there is a specific french character like é...
Here is a part of xml file :

<FileName>1056_20150208183028.mpg</FileName><HostName>raspberrypi</HostName><Airdate/><Description>2ème partie du magazine</Description><Inetref/><Season>0</Season>

And the error is :
ERROR: AddOnLog: MythTV PVR Client: (CPPMyth)ParseResponseJSON: failed to parse: 1: unable to decode byte 0xb0 near

Well , it's not exactly the error line (the decode byte change of course) but that's the error.

I checked the xml File from mythbackend, and it's utf8 encoded (at least in the header it's specified like it).

Is there anything i can do ?

Ps : I'm using your plugin on a raspberry and version is 1.11.4.

Thanks for any answer Smile
I have a quick question on the MythTV addon. I am currently running Kodi 14.1 with the newest Myth PVD addon on a Minix X8 player and after I watch a recorded TV episode and go to play another it will load and I get sound but no picture. The only way I can get it to work again is to lead Kodi and reload. I didn't have this issue before on XBMC 13.3. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks

I think that is what you are looking for. If not let me know. Sorry I haven't pulled from the log file before.
(2015-01-30, 10:59)Rouleur Wrote: [ -> ]Hi - apologies if this has been answered earlier, but I've been searching for an answer and can't seem to find it.

My current set up is a backend running CentOS 6.3 and MythTV 0.26.

Last night I upgraded my XBMC machine from Gotham to Kodi, which also involved a clean base OS install (from 12.10 to 14.04.1 LTS). Since then I haven't been able to get Live TV to work - as others earlier in this thread experienced, it tells me it's "working" for a while, and then says "Channel Unavailable".

The MythTV addon I originally had was 1.9.28, but this afternoon I compiled it from janbar's git to 1.11.4 (IIRC), but I have the same problem.

Question: will Kodi-based MythTV addons work with MythTV 0.26? If not, I suspect I will have to ditch CentOS for Mythbuntu or something...

I've noticed some suggestions here and elsewhere to disable IPV6. I've cleared the setting in the General tab in mythbackend, and I've added the relevant lines to the sysctl_conf file, but have had no luck doing that either (although CentOS reports IPV6 as still running as a process, can't work it out).

I'll upload a log file later on (family is currently watching a movie), but the Kodi logs simply say that in attempting to spawn Live TV, it exceeds the time to tune.

I should add that I built a new Windows 7 machine last week and installed Kodi on that, and have the same problem - which is why I'm wondering if the problem is that I'm running MythTV 0.26 (or, again, it's the IPV6 thing).

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?

Using this repo in centos7, was using it in centos 6 before as well.

Works fine. (especially in 7)

Harder than mythbuntu though.
Do I have to build this add on or is it available somewhere as a zip that I can use in OpenElec?

Is this add on the same as the Myth PVR add on already included in openelec? My Open Elec is reporting version 1.11.2 for the Myth PVR add on.

I know this is a long thread but links to janbar's latest compiled binaries have been posted more than once. Here it is again. Current in there seems to be 1.12.1. Download the zip and install like any other addon. It will override whatever openelec has built in.

The openelec builtins are in the read only file system at somewhere like (from memory)

/usr/share/kodi/addons

The one you download will go in /storage/.kodi/addons/ and over ride the builtin.
