Thanks so much, that worked. I have another question and I am not sure if it is a problem with this add-on, kodi in general, mythtv, or schedules direct. I have to manually refresh the episode list once every 2 weeks. By this I mean, go into the backend and retrieve lineup, then run mythfill database, then sometimes even go into kodi and reset the epg.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
You should set up regular epg in mythtv-setup. I'd need to look at mine later to tell you exactly where.
What do you mean by regular epg? Are you talking about ota epg or some type of regular download/updating of the guide?
I mean if mythtv-setup is set correctly, mythbackend will regularly download epg via schedules direct or xmltv (whichever you are using) .
In mythtv-setup, option 1, last page.

Make sure automatic update is on.

sudo apt-get remove kodi-pvr-mythtv-helix
sudo apt-get install kodi-pvr-mythtv-isengard
Thanks everyone

I also accidentally updated to V15. Did the above and it still says "no pvr client enabled". I enable the plug in and it just disables it when i try to view "live TV" and says waiting for plugin to start. No clients enabled.
Mythtv backend is running. I can use the front end to view everything. So the plug in is not loading correctly. I am trying to capture a log now.

pvr.mythtv version 2.5.0 ubuntu 14.04

edit: is there new dependencies i need to update?

EDIT 2: .... not sure what i did but i just reset the skin and disbaled TV and reneabled TV and it's working now!
@janbar. I'm having problems installing using your latest 'doityourself' branch for Jarvis alpha.

Following the instructions at http://kodi.wiki/view/MythTV_PVR/BuildFromSource , I run
Code:
cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release ../pvr.mythtv/
which I believe should create a makefile to install in /usr/local/lib/kodi/addons/pvr.mythtv/ and /usr/local/share/kodi/addons/pvr.mythtv/ by default on linux.

It installs in /addons/pvr.mythtv/ and /share/addons/pvr.mythtv (at the root), rather than using the default "/usr/local" prefix which it used to until recently.

When I try:
Code:
cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/local/ ../pvr.mythtv/
the lib files are stored correctly, but it puts things in /usr/local/share//addons/pvr.mythtv/ instead of /usr/local/share/kodi/addons/pvr.mythtv/

I don't get any of these issues with a pvr.hts client 'make install'.

"install" section can only work building with kodi, not as stand-alone. This branch has the facilities to be bold without kodi, and then there is no reason to use install section. The readme file explains how to build and pack the addon.
OK. I can live with the current behaviour if this is intended.
@metaron I have synced cmake project with lastest addon-helper from kodi. Now the procedure to generate the ZIP archive could be done by:

Code:
make package

as explained in the updated README.md

@janbar

Just a heads up

Latest changes to mythtv 0.28pre includes protocol bump.
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/...3eb21f7dcf

There are massive changes in this update and mythfrontend is broken (will not connect to backend - protocol token issue) on my system (Ubuntu 15.04). I had to completely downgrade to get mythtv working again. The changes also break mythweb,

Suggest do not upgrade 0.28pre at this time.

What is the current version for Kodi (Jason)? My RPi2 shows MythTV PVR Client version as 3.2.1. The reason I ask is that I'm having a bit of trouble when changing channels while Live TV is playing. It doesn't seem to matter how I go about changing the channels. If, say, I'm watching 14.1 and try to change to 14.2 using the up key, it merely resets the live tv file that it had going for channel 14.1 and starts playing it from the beginning. Looking at the mythbackend.log file on Mythbuntu, I don't see anything happen. Looking at the kodi.log on the RPi2, it looks like it is processing a request to change to the exact same channel that it was on, i.e.14.1. If I hit stop, return to Guide or Channels and then select 14.2, it starts playing 14.2 like it should.

Anyone else experiencing this? Here is a cut/paste of the relevant part of the kodi.log file.

TBN is the "callsign" of channel 14.1. After hitting UP key, it just goes back to the beginning of the "ring buffer" that it was using for 14.1
