malte Wrote:Not sure if this fits in your situation but an RCB user had the exact same error message and solved it by adding "explorer" before the XBMC launch command. I guess this shifts the control of the process and with this the lock on the log.file to another process. See his post here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=715...tcount=992
Thank you for the advice Malte. It effectively allows the correctly close XBMC without killing the running .bat file, but the .bat command windows is not anymore hidden. But it give me some ideas. Thank you.
i'm curious if anyone with a minimal ubuntu install knows if it's possible to use this to launch pcsx2. it'd be nice to not have to hook up my ps2 when i want to play it but it seems most people using this are on windows.
Hi Angelscry,
Seriously have to compliment you again on your commitment to Advanced Launcher. It's helped complete my HTPC and I'd really consider throwing some money your way (and maybe others would as well) if you set up a PayPal account.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but I spent a
very long time adding title-screens for each of my games by hand. I downloaded the title screens by hand and then used "Select a Local Image" to change the fanart for each file. When I was done, I deleted the folder that the fanart was in.
Everything was fine, because I think ALA or XBMC cached the images, but when I re-scraped the folder, I lost the fanart
because I had assumed that ALA was making a copy of the fanart in its fanart directory (it does this for scraped fanart but not for manually added fanart
). Anyways, I went and re-downloaded the title screens, but before I add them again I would like ALA to store a copy of any manually added fanart the same way it saves scraped fanart.
I'd also like a way to export the current fanart & thumbnails so that I can backup my images. I think I'd go bonkers if I lost that many images again. Maybe just an option on the launcher for "Export Fanart & Thumbnails" and then ask for a directory? Alternatively if ALA could just dump the cached imagery to the proper fanart & thumbnails directories the next time it starts then I don't need this option...I'm scared of re-scraping until I backup my images.
Cheers!
Angelscry Wrote:All the scraped thumbs and fanarts images are stored into their respective thumbs and fanart directory defined during the launcher creation. So if you want to make a backup of these images just make a copy/paste of those directories (or compress them into ZIP or RAR archive).
I know that the scraped thumbs and fanarts are stored this way, but could you have ALA store the manually-added thumbs and fanart in the same way?
ie:
- User selects "local image" and selects an image
- ALA copies the image, renames it to <rom_name> and puts it in the proper folder
- ALA overwrites any image with the same name
This way whenever I want to make a ZIP/RAR backup I can be certain that it contains
all of the imagery and not just the scraped images.
Hello everyone, I use the example of sript Autolt Angelscry for Neo-Geo CD, and I ais added commands in order to use XBMC and Emulator with a joystick via Xpadder and also be able to leave the emulator from the controller.
It works well:
If $CmdLine[0] == 1 Then
RunWait('"C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"' & $CmdLine[1] & '"')
ShellExecute("C:\Program Files\xpadder_gamepad_profiler\ncdz.xpadderprofile")
RunWait('ncdz.exe')
RunWait('"C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\daemon.exe" -unmount 0')
ShellExecute("C:\Program Files\xpadder_gamepad_profiler\XBMC.xpadderprofile")
EndIf
Exit 0
I'd do the same with Kega Fusion.
Here is my script Kega Fusion does not work:
If $CmdLine[0] == 1 Then
Run ('"C:\Program Files\Fusion\Fusion.exe" -gen -fullscreen "' & $CmdLine[1] & '"')
EndIf
Exit 0
Can you tell me please remember how to launch a rom Kega Fusion with an external sript Autolt.

Could you post here you launchers.xml file part corresponding to Kega Fusion? With your script if the number of passed arguments is not exactly equal to 1, the Autoit script will not start the Fusion executable file.

No... Some users may want to store their thumbs/fanarts into different directories. That's the goal of the "Select Local image" option : assign an image to a thumb or fanart item that are not into the folders defined by the launcher.
srsobieraj Wrote:- User selects "local image" and selects an image

You can do this by just copy/paste this image into its dedicated folder and then select it from ALA using the "select local image" option.

Hello Angelscry, Well I do not understand I just set Advanced Launcher again to send you by Launcher.xml Pastebin.com, and a miracle seems to have happened ...
It seems to work. I'm really sorry I had to make a mistake somewhere, I must clear up this mystery and you'll know.
Thank you.

Do you mean how to import game description or how activate the display of the game description into the Xperience mod skin ?
compufan2000 Wrote:both i guess
To add game description you have 3 methods :
- Import it using one of the game datas scrapers (AllGame, Mobygame, GameFAQs). For this, go to Edit Item, Modify Datas/Infos context menu and select the Import From... option. Then enter the game title, and select the corresponding game from the list.
- Import if from a text file where you have previously copy/paste the game description. For this, go to Edit Item, Modify Datas/Infos context menu and select the Import Plot From File option. Then select the text file.
- Edit the launchers.xml file using a text editor an copy/paste the game description between the <plot> tags of the corresponding game.
To activate the description display from the Xperience skin MOD... I do not know. I think you will have to ask to people hoe made the skin MOD.
