I have comics ---> Marvel & DC ---- Marvel has --X-Men ---inside all the cbr /cbz files , Wolverine, Spiderman, Fear Itself / Civil War ..., similarly DC have Batman / Action Comics/ Superman /Infinite Crises/ new 52 in theor own folders and then cbr/cbz.
What i have done is put a folder.jpg & fanart for each parent folder .
Can you please guide me on how to get all these ( about 2000 ) comics all scraped via AL ( i have them already scraped via comicvine using comicrack .. which i intend to use via AL ).
Is it possible for just 1 instance of AL to scrape & manage all these different comics ?
Would I need a seperate instance of AL for each individual Comic Character e.g Batman / X-men etc ..
how many instances of AL can be used simultaneously
Could there be any other way Angelscry to do this .. you were thinking uptil recently to create an addon for comics itself ?
I am determined this time to do this once & for All so Please Please help ..
Dugan if you have a setup working well for comics please you could help guide me as well
If you want to clearly separate your Marvel and DC comics, what I'm suggesting you is to duplicate Advanced launcher an use 1 instance of Advanced Launcher for Marvel comics and 1 instance of Advanced Launcher for DC comics. Then into each instance create 1 files launcher for each series (1 launcher for Batman, 1 launcher for X-men, etc...). Each files launcher was pointing to the folder contening the .cbr and cbz files corresponding to the series.
If you don't care to have Marvel and DC comics mixed together, use 1 instance of Advanced Launcher for all your comics, and as described before, create 1 files launcher for each series.
Folder.jpg and fanart.jpg files are not supported by Advanced Launcher. For each launcher you have to indicate where will be located the thumb (cover) and the fanart images. If you select the same folder where are located the comics, the thumb and fanart image must be named as filename_of_the_comic_thumb.jpg and filename_of_the_comic_fanart.jpg. If you select dedicated folders for your thumb and fanart images, in this case they must be named both as filename_of_the_comic.jpg.
Advanced launcher do not support Comicrack crapped information. This application is only dedicated to Windows operating system, and take more than 10 seconds to open/view a comic.... so no interest for most of the XBMC users, particularly those who are using OSX/OSXPPC, Linux, ATV–ATV2, iOS, XBMCbuntu and Android versions of XBMC. Advancedc Launcher include a ComicVine scraper... Use it!
