I have tried this on 2 different computers and i receive the same result (Windows XP and Windows 7)
Again I really appreciate the help.
Are you using the Dharma version (10.4) or the Camelot version (9.11) of XBMC?
ghostelement Wrote:Any chance you could add support for scraping from thegamesdb.net?
As I already reply to you. If your database will be not able to make differences between platform system for a same game title I will not add scraping support of it into the advanced launcher.
Angelscry Wrote:No it is not possible to do this with actually with the advanced launcher addon and I do not know if it will be possible. I'm a Linux user and do not have dual screen so it will be difficult for me to investigate on this way. Maybe you will have to investigate into Windows functionalities to see if there is a command line of software to force to launch an application on a specific screen. If so it may be possible to create a .bat file or an autoit script to do the job. Then it will be possible to launch this script using the advanced launcher.
Alright. Thank you for your time and help.
btw - very nice plugin! dont know how i could live without it
but still have some questions and ideas.
is your adv. launcher plugin going to be in a repo? so that im able to have automaticly the latest release?
there is an option in EMU games to pick up the fanart / box from a scrapper (in the context menu) but it its not there for windows games. is this planned for the future?
a little idea: is it possible to show a game trailer in the background instead of the fanart while browsing the games? like in the playstation 3 os. have you seen that? i would love to have that
but anyway like i said, this is a very cool plugin! thank you for your work!
DasFa Wrote:is your adv. launcher plugin going to be in a repo? so that im able to have automaticly the latest release?
Because the old launcher version still supposedly active, repositories maintainers are not really enthusiastic to host my version (confusions between users and/or duplicate applications). So I have planned to create my proper repository when the launcher will be finished (futures version 1.0 with automatic images and data scraping for launchers and addons). Actually my version is like a beta version.

Yes, of course, it is planned. I'm actually waiting feedbacks of this functionality on roms and when they will be sufficiently positive I will add it for launchers.

Heuuu... yes I think it theoretically possible. But it will need a lot of works : found videos sources, code a scrapper, modify the skin, etc...
why don't you just make your own addon with that, calling it Game launcher (it's game specifiq no ? ) there won't be confusion that way.

I considered suggestion that same name, but the launcher can also be used to launch stand-alone executables. Although it sure seems to be focussing on games!
I hope you accept comments from the dark side
Why not following spiffs suggestion from the mailing list: talk to zosky and integrate your changes into the original launcher?
There has been no activity in the old thread since you "left" it and there don't seem to be any code changes to the original for several weeks. And if you have finished your work (or even now) there won't be any use for the old version.

Actually the addon is called "Advanced Launcher" and it is under this name that I have propose it to the repository. "Game launcher" name will be also ok... I think.. but it can also launch other applications than games if you do not use the scrap options.
What about using Passion-XBMC's repo?

Ok, look, there is 2 options to share my contribution :
- ask permissions to old thread creator (to modify first post of the thread to report addon updates), ask permissions to xbmc repository maintainers (to host the addon), ask permissions to uploader of the original launcher on the xbmc repository (also to host the addon), and ask permissions to google code page administrator (to post my modification).
- or do it all by myself.
I think the second choice will be more fast and simple. Sorry guy... I'm on the dark side.
feel free to put it on xbmc passion repo, it's here for that
clock2113 Wrote:What about using Passion-XBMC's repo?
Because I'm French, Passion-XBMC's repo was my naturally second choice. After contact them, I have tried to upload my add-on two times though their website, but without any luck. So I have renounced.
ppic Wrote:feel free to put it on xbmc passion repo, it's here for that
Also, there is the old version of the original launcher on xbmc-passion repo. But I will surely make another try.
ppic Wrote:come to me if no success
I'm actually into contact with DanoneKiD.
