WoofWink

MVC (framepacking) is working too, I forgot to post that fact. I ripped MVC Blurays with makemkv, all of them and the Blurayimages themselve work perfect.

Today will be my first 3D Kodi Cinema-Evening jippie :-)

What resolution setting are using to get 3D working?
I Just have a fullhd tv, so i use 1080p

So your TV is not a 4K TV?

Little Capture from my ASRock J3455-ITX. For those who canot belive Appolo Lake plays HEVC 10Bit Smile
No, Just FHD

edit: Will the ability of your Kodi Version come with the upcoming offical Kodi releases?!
HEVC-10 bit is supported since a very long time now on Windows. As those also had hybrid support for Braswell and Skylake which was never released for e.g. Linux. Even old Broadwell had hevc-8bit gpu assisted decoding support there.

Can you try this reald world sample for me: http://fritsch.fruehberger.net/samples/f...c-10bit.ts and please post a Debug Log with it? And a screenshot in the middle showing skips and drops? (You need kodi-send -a PlayerDebug to get that or assign a custom key).
Any kind soul with Apollo Lake HW willing to test this 4:2:2 H.264 sample (190 MB) ?

Most probably the HW provides no GPU accelerated decoding for this codec,
so is there enough CPU horsepower for software decoding ?
@fritsch log from your sample play
http://pastebin.com/bAL4YShX

there was maybe 1-2 frame drops when i started sample - and arround 20 skips
btw. PlayerDebug = CTRL+SHIFT+O

@demasiado your samples with SW decoding 100% ok - CPU load 60-80%

Between 60-70% work load with j4205 and ddr 1866 in dual channel Mode

@piotrasd and @flyingernst
i'm sorry for the silly question but i'm new in this particular field..

1) what kind of case do you use it with the ASRock motherboard..?

2) is it possible to use a remote like a Minix A2 Lite ?

I'm really interested in finding a windows mini pc that could be used for different purposes:

1) calibrate my projector with DispCal,Madvr,Argyll CMS..
2) media player with MPC HC and MADVR LUT table
3) 24h server with low power consumption.

It's not a simple search..but i'm thinking that ASROCK J3455-ITX or ASROCK J4205-ITX could be a nice solution.

thank you for the time you dedicate in testing this two products..

Hi, there!
Ordered an Asrock J4205-ITX for my HTPC/NAS build, should arrive in a week.

Will post a review of it as soon as I get it going.
I think as fileserver without recoding for Plex you Can use the older Generation with 6w tdp. When you will use it as Player too then 3455, since 4205 has unused CPU Power. I Can even use it in Eco Mode settings. Windows Boots in seconds. Power usage between 9 and 13 Watts at my Setup with ssd and bd Rom and 120mm radiator while whatching 4k hevc.

I think that biggest upgrade from previous version is support for 10bit hevc
