Found the answer on GeForce forums.
But aren't prepared to share it?
Sorry late night, it's discussed here https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic...a-usb-3-0/

Here is the test build Martijn has been using: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/andr...bi-v7a.apk
Note that, currently, for hevc you have to disable MediaCodec and only leave libstagefright (at least in my tests).

As I said, I'll open a dev thread for issues and improvments later.
For plain support, please use this thread: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=228158
Keep this one for generic discussions on the device.

No hd audio , no 3d pff.. again missed chance, ordered a himedia instead

perhaps if in future it would do 3d and hd audio, ill get a shield for my main ht
but for now, no thx
Think the headline for me for the nVidia shield is HDMI 2.0 2160/60p output support and HDCP 2.2 which will allow Netflix 4K output. 4K/60p and 4K/50p output is something many of us want as it allows a single upscale for non-1080p content (until now 720p an SD content has been scaled to 1080p in Kodi and then 2160p in 4K displays - unless you manually alter the output resolution or want to be limited to 4K/24-30p output)

It looks as if the Shield supports PCM multichannel output, so like the Pi 2 it should support HD Audio by decoding within Kodi to PCM multichannel? You won't get bitstreaming (and Dolby Atmos) but will get lossless decoding of DTS-HD / Dolby True HD tracks if the HD Audio decoding stuff is folded into mainline (which I believe it is?)

An nVidia Shield dual-booting between OpenElec and Android would be amazing - though it will be interesting to see what the non-Android support is like?

As noggin pointed out, 8-channel PCM may be doable, so DTS-MA and TrueHD could be decoded, just not ATMOS and DTS:X. Also, a nVidia rep has posted they're considering HD audio for an OTA update later.
Does it support HDMI 2.0a (HDR)?
Officially out for only one day and already first OTA update for "SHIELD Android TV Software Upgrade 1.1" is now available (29/5-20155)

-> A bit double, still no hd audio i assume?
Does this still mean no native 24p support?
If they have a fix for pulldown, does that mean blu rays encode in 23,98 will play smoothly? The adjust refresh rate is the most important thing for me, don't care about HD audio..

Why will you encode a Bluray Disc and take the HD Bitstream audio out?
